Great news another is in the pot to get that mythical promotion.
I still think it’s all irrelevant as the powers that be want to
keep a closed shop (unless it’s Kent Wasps)

Had to smile at the bit about the Club wanting promotion having
to satisfy financial standards...

I wish Coventry all the best. Having seen them play recently,
I'm sure they could give the Prem 1 (sic) a go.

Well, I'm not sure I'd hold out too much hope for that one.

Well the RFU/Premiership Rugby are saying now that you will get
4 years once promoted to get to the 10,000 capacity...

I struggle to understand why one of the requirements for
promotion is to have a ground that holds 10k spectators when
Newcastle had a "personal best" of 6k attendance last season,

I think it's tied to making sure that grounds in the Premiership
have a valid local authority safety certificate. Weirdly, it
seems the rules are looser for the round ball game compared to
other sports: Link to Gov.UK

The rules they are a changin' mightily fast!
If I also understand the current situation : Championship teams
need to have approved plans, planning permission and finance in
place BEFORE they are admitted to the Premiership (having duly
defeated the #10 team in aggregate). Pretty tall order for teams
just getting by and no more.

It certainly appears they are doing their best to have a closed
shop while still pretending that there can be promotion

That is true, but only if planning permission is in place by
this January! This was added after the season started.
