"The 12 Championship clubs have unanimously backed a vote of no
confidence against Bill Sweeney and Tom Ilube, the Rugby
Football Union’s chief executive and chairman respectively, in a
fresh blow to their leadership amid the governing body’s ongoing
salary and bonus scandal.
In correspondence sent to RFU president Rob Udwin on Friday –
and seen by Telegraph Sport – the 12 clubs in English rugby’s
second tier threw their weight behind a growing grass-roots
revolt, which began with 20 council members pledging their
support for an emergency council meeting that would allow for a
no-confidence vote in the senior leadership team.
In a statement, the Championship said that the decision had been
taken “at a meeting of club chairs on December 5 in which all 12
clubs were represented”.
The statement added that English rugby’s second tier “would be
urging all other clubs and members of the union to support their
call for an SGM [special general meeting] and a vote of no
confidence” but that “the clubs will act individually when it
comes to arguing for or voting on any no-confidence motions that
might arise”.
Telegraph Sport understands, too, that the RFU council
representative for National One and National Two – tiers three
and four – has written to clubs asking which way they would like
to vote in any potential no-confidence motion."

National One now on the RFU case
HTML https://www.msn.com/en-gb/sport/football/rfu-faces-fresh-revolt-as-national-one-clubs-demand-review-after-bonus-scandal/ar-AA1w2bzl?ocid=msedgntp&pc=ASTS&cvid=08f035f2fcef4a6aa2d664a4eda065a3&ei=5
he senior leadership of Rugby Football Union has come under
fresh fire over the recent salary and bonus scandal with 11 of
the 14 clubs in National One calling for an independent
root-and-branch review of the management of the game in England,
which they claim is “not fit for purpose”.
The revolt has been triggered by the furious reaction across the
game to revelations that RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney was
paid £1.1 million last year, including an extra bonus of
£358,000, while five other executive directors shared a bonus of
close to £1 million against a backdrop of 42 redundancies and
the RFU’s record loss of £37.9 million.
The National One league is the third tier of English rugby,
below the Premiership and Championship, and the list of clubs
demanding the overhaul include two of the RFU’s founding clubs,
Blackheath and Richmond. The RFU website says Sweeney has a
“strong connection with” Richmond, while one of his former
clubs, Rosslyn Park, have also joined the call.
The move comes ahead of an emergency council meeting on
Wednesday that was called by RFU president Rob Udwin in an
attempt to diffuse the situation amid the threat that more than
20 council members were demanding a vote of no confidence in RFU
chair Tom Ilube.
“Rosslyn Park and the undersigned clubs of National League One
Rugby are collectively calling for a root-and-branch review,
independent of the current RFU council, board and executive,
into the governance, set-up and the management of rugby in
England,” said a statement that was signed by 11 clubs and has
been seen by Telegraph Sport."

Good! Sweeney and his mate Ilube (diversity hire with no
connection to rugby before as far as I have ever been able to
see) need to go. Along with the Muppets that worked out their
pay deals. It may have been their "right" to take the money as
per the agreements. But anyone with half an ounce of common
sense would see how bad it was going to look and either decline
the bonus or defer it or give it to charity. Sweeney is a
terrible leader.

Agree BQ
The facts would be disregarded - apparently she has been
deselected for non-performance to the levels required
