I saw some of the game. Several players seem to be living off
reputation and past glories.
Commentators and online reviews having about Marcus, but not
about anyone else. Is that a fair reflection?

Borthwick surely must be sacked when we inevitably end the
autumn having only beaten Japan.
That was abysmal.

Earl?!? Top carrier and second top tackler for England?
The pack getting repeatedly run over, and a suicidal defensive
system made even worse by Henry Slade, a man whose commitment to
shooting up and missing is akin to a chiuahaha with an addiction
to chasing police cars, were much much bigger problems than a
guy who actually did some good stuff at times.
Bell and Valentini bullied the England forwards, England ran out
of puff chasing lost causes, and the guy keeping us in it got
moved from 10 right on schedule only for his replacement to have
a big hand in giving Australia another easy try.
Rubbish stuff.

If you need convincing how important the coach is, see how Smidt
has turned the Aussies’ fortunes around. Whilst very
disappointed, they deserved that win. Far more dynamic at the
breakdown

Ford was again to blame for their second to last try. Too many
players in the side who need to be cast off but won’t. George,
Slade, and even Freeman. OSH and IFW both need a start

Yeah it's a shame that Freeman hasn't nailed down the place but
he's been on a slow slide into mediocrity since returning to the
team. I remain convinced his international future should be
primarily as a 13.
Slade is a disaster who is also offering extremely little in
attack.
George played pretty well but if he wasn't captain I'd not want
him starting often. I'm not sure LCD is what we need either; his
power was helpful but he could've been binned for a really bad
tackle almost immediately, and he doesn't have the energy or
effectiveness of old.
Curry was largely just a tackler before taking himself out, we
yet again did not get close to the ball at the breakdown, and
seeing Curry, Martin, and other big forwards get blasted out of
the way was extremely disturbing.

100%. Its been apparent from the get go that Borthwick is out of
his depth.

Watch Stephen Jones blame it all on Marcus for the last try

The only good I take from all this is that it is a massive wake
up call before the 6 nations and that the Lions tour to
Australia will not be the walkover that it was looking like to
be and will be a real competition.
The 6 Nations is last chance time for Borthwick and if he fails
he will go-but who to replace him?
At least we can console ourselves that next Saturday we play
against the weaker of all the teams over in the UK!
