Have you paid any attention to any of the stuff that Marler has
said over the years? He genuinely struggles being away from his
family and that has consistently been behind his many
retirements from International duty. In the past he's been able
to find fresh motivation after a break, but this feels it is
genuinely the end.
I said when he emerged as a teenager that he'd get 100 caps for
England and 300 for Quins. I guess that won't come to pass now -
but I was close

Quins and England legend, feels like the right time for him to
step down from playing. Like some of the best players he's had
his ups, downs and frankly ridiculous moments but always holds
his hands up when he gets it wrong.

Also, fairly importantly, Marler withdrew from the England camp
on Monday. Well before any of the twitter stuff.

I think his mind is slowly checking out from rugby. Fair enough
I suppose. He will be missed big time by both Quins and England.
Just hope he’s got a few chunky performances in him for the
remainder of this season.
Yeah, nothing to do with ‘wokery’ or anything like that,
whatever it actually means.
