Marcos Moneta

Anyone notice that when quins did a post a week or so ago, with
"past and present harlequins players" wishing Isgro good luck,
they included puma 7s (and '21 world sevens player of the year):
Marcos Moneta?
BBC have also just included a snippet: "Harlequins put together
a little video of the club's previous Pumas congratulating him
on his start for social media. Intriguingly, Marcos Moneta - a
fellow jet-heeled Sevens star - was also included despite not,
yet at least, playing for Quins."
Anyone know anything? Perhaps one we are keeping an eye on?

I saw that this morning too and thought it was an interesting
inclusion.
Can't shed any light on it I'm afraid but possibly an exciting
prospect they have lined up should the Isgro experiment go well.
Perhaps a like for like swap with Halfpenny for next season.

I think we can reasonably say that the Isgro experiment is going
well and is not being caused by dodgy wiring. It's just not
reached p<0.001 levels of confidence yet.

Yes, agree. I also read somewhere else that Quins are on the
lookout for back 3 options ahead of next season.

Hope that doesn't mean we're losing Tyrone back to SA...

That crossed my mind too but just can't quite see how that works
given his love and affiliation with where he is now, and the
apparent quality ahead of him to get into the SA squad.
Especially with the door possibly opening for an England call-up
within the next 18 months (although he's been honest in saying
SA is the dream).
Maybe he feels being on the ground in SA is his final punt at
getting the recognition for selection.

Just going by what we've seen in the past, family back home is
always a draw... Then again, NEv has moved his family here and
there have, of course, been others. Fingers crossed the England
call-up comes too - whatever helps keep him here!

Or losing Cadan, although his comments on Sunday suggest he's
sticking around.
Tyrone is a great asset, but his chances with SA are probably
minimal now. That doesn't mean he won't be on the radar for
other clubs, and the French would be able to offer great money.
But he seems settled and happy here, and he has a young family
too. Fingers crossed we keep him.

Perhaps Nick David is on his way out. Slightly fallen in the
pecking order and a few clubs where think he would be more of a
central figure.
