TRIO JOIN STRONG BACK LINE AS GALLAGHER PREMIERSHIP RETURNS TO
THE STOOP
Mike Brown, Nathan Earle and Joe Marchant are all named in
Harlequins’ starting XV to play Newcastle Falcons in the
Gallagher Premiership at The Stoop on Friday evening (kick-off:
19:45).
The three return from England to make up the back line alongside
Charlie Mulchrone, Marcus Smith, Ben Tapuai and Aaron Morris.
In the forwards the front row is unchanged from the trip to
Exeter last week while Joe Marler returns to the squad as a Game
Changer. Alex Dombrandt retains his place in the back row after
three excellent performances in the Premiership Rugby Cup.
Dombrandt moves back to flanker as James Chisholm comes in as
captain at Number 8, with Jack Clifford starting at Openside.
Harlequins Head of Rugby Paul Gustard said: “We are very excited
about the return of the Gallagher Premiership and taking on
Newcastle Falcons at our home under lights.
“We welcome Mike, Nathan and Joe back into the first team and
look forward to the attacking intent and sharpness that they can
bring to our back line. We are disappointed that they are not
representing England this weekend but as a club it is a great
boost for our squad to be able to include players of their
calibre for this match.
“As a club we are moving forward showing consistent improvement
in our training and preparation which is evident in the tenacity
on the Saturday, however, we are determined not just to be
tenacious and hard working! We are Harlequins and we dream
bigger and aspire to be better. We have the opportunity on
Friday to show the growth we are making and get the result that
we want.”

No Horwill. One of my favourite players but even I think he is
missing quite a bit of rugby

Also, is Bothma injured? Would have thought he would have been
back row cover instead of Ward?

Even though Falcons are currently in 12th, I think this will be
a tough game.

I agree, they have been playing well. Good to see they have a
few missing though. Looking at our side, I really think we
could do with something more at lock and SH

Going to be a very tough game. I really don’t get the Brown on
wing he’s a full back and the best in the prem in my opinion so
play him there.

I always think this but every time we or England put him on the
wing he does really well and maybe he is there to counter Sinoti
Sinoti as our other wingers would struggle to defend against
him?
Hopefully Morris can link up with Earl and Marchant like he did
against Sale and we should be flying.

I imagine Walker and Visser are thrilled that they've just
dropped another rung down the selection ladder! Anyway might
turn out to be a clever tactical move to neutralise Falcons, or
not.
