Indeed think I’ve suffered all the home ones. I just recall all
of last years being particularly bad.
Was our last home win when Visser scored from a crossed field
kick on the last play (or there abouts)?
What is it about Sarries, there is no doubting their quality but
we must have some sort of mental frailty against them as we’ve
fielded some strong teams but still don’t compete well.

I think the last league win was January 2020. We beat a very
second string Sarries 41-14. They were missing all their
internationals for the 6N and had just accepted automatic
relegation so had little to play for.

Tighthead is becoming an issue. Titi needs a big game. He'll
start but I'd be tempted to go with Lewis.
Jev has to be in the 23 given current availability of backs.

He does seem to struggle in early scrums. Hopefully game time
and working with Bomb will sort that out.

Just to make folks aware, there's engineering work between Ascot
& Twickenham, with a "wonderful" Bus Replacement service that
takes you from Ascot to Hounslow, & a train from there to TW. If
you've coming in from that direction, expect delays or if you
can, use a different route.

As stated before, re Titi, Wilco struggled at first with the
scrums earlier in the game and that didn't work out too badly. I
always remember "them" coughing up some early scrum penalties
when Titi and Mako were there but got a bit better as the game
went on. On the tighthead side, anyway.
What do we gain/lose with Chis/Lawday at 8 and CCS moving to 6?
An extra carrier but we've had that structure against them
before and hasn't worked out. Would two fetchers be better as it
would nullify Earl at 7 (his best position) and force their 6 or
8 to come into the rucks as well? Difficult to call.
Lamb to go up against Itoje would be good and you can have
Launch or Lewies as the other, with Ernie on the bench.
I'm not a subscriber to the cult of Nick David but as we have a
bit of an injury challenge, we may not have a choice. I want the
best tackler available at 15 for this one as we need to show
what we've learnt about defence for a whole 80. Nick David
doesn't fit that mould.

I used to get excited by our games with Saracens as a big
rivalry, but now I dread them as we never turn up. In the past
they’d be competitive even if we lost, but lately it’s just
embarrassing. Hopefully this weekend won’t be more of the same

They did a job on us at ruck time in this fixture last year,
both sides of the ball, I recall. They committed numbers. This
is going to be the key area again and we need to match their
speed/accuracy here. I'd go Kenningham, Chis, Evans and leave
CCS until later. Need our most mobile locks too, Dino and
Lewies.
