More RFU incompetence....
DIR By: Aha!

Phil Morrow is under contract to Sarries who had wanted to hold
their man to his contract rather than join the England team as
strength and conditioning coach.
So the RFU asked the clubs to consider a job-share scheme.
Not only is this idea half-baked, it required the prem clubs to
make a decision around a topic not of their making, and today
they declined to give permission.
As England staff, Phil Morrow, whose integrity is not in
question, would learn keen details of each squad player. For
example, he might learn that a Harlequins player has a weak
right step, is poorer at passing left and prefers catch-up
tackling to frontal defence tackling.
Morrow couldn't unlearn this when Quins next played Sarries.
It beggars belief that the RFU could even consider the idea as
viable, let alone put the premier clubs in the position of
having to make a decision around a topic not of their making.
So the RFU has a bloody nose and the premier clubs are p....d
off. For McCall to claim the decision as "small-minded" has
wider implications.

Well not just that he’d learn those sorts of details (which a
good analyst could probably work out I guess), but that he’d
have access to medical records and have a say in managing
players Premiership minutes.
It’s a huge conflict of interest.

But that was very different: Evans was seconded to the RFU for a
specific period of time, during which he did nothing at Quins.
Morrow would be working for Saracens at the same time as working
for the RFU.

tbh - the saga with Nev could also be filed under "RFU
incompetence"

If the argument is that it allows someone still working at a
club to get valuable insight they can use against other clubs,
I'm afraid it still applies to NEv, who a) was still a Quins
coach and talking to his fellow coaches, and b) won't have
magically forgotten any of these secret leanings in the short
period he was seconded to England. The distinction does not
matter here.
I think it's overblown anyway; the players learn just as much
about each other on international duty.

I don't think that's the point. NEv might have learned a little
more than he would get anyway from video analysis, but Morrow
would know what injuries players are carrying and - critically -
would be able to say that an opposing player should be rested
for a match that matters to Sarries, while allowing Sarries
players to play for their club. Not that they would ever
manipulate players' mandatory rest periods or anything like
that. The very thought!

I don't think he's able to just unilaterally make decisions like
that without justification. We're veering into conspiracy theory
territory here.

What's that "watched" tag for, Jammy? Have you been misbehaving?

Been mean to Toga. It's okay, I can just create a new account
and everyone will have to treat me as if I was starting with a
clean slate ;-)
