It’s perhaps fair enough saying the younger untried players are
inexperienced for big games, but every game is a big game these
days, so sometimes these players have to come in & take their
chance. If they’re good enough then they will, if not there must
be a question mark as to why they are in the squad. I would
definitely have Smith at 10 & David at 15.
Also how close is Sean Kerr to getting a selection? He was
tremendous in that U20’s team.

The reason the U21s were changed to the U20s a decade or more
ago is that young men develop a lot physically in their early
20s.
Kerr is an exceptional player but he’s not fully developed yet.
Barring a crisis, I don’t think the club will throw him in to
the senior team until he’s had time to bulk up enough to be able
to cope with the physicality.

No boastful claims being made, the opposite if anything - are
boastful excuses a thing? Here perhaps.

Yes, I'm referring to your habits and your history on this
forum.
You really don't remember making the grand claim that Saracens
never slip up at the business end of the season, nor your angry
insistence that Saracens not Saints were the best team in the
league - shortly before the loss at home on the final weekend to
Sale, meaning you had to play Saints in the semi... Which you
lost...
Not the first time you've immediately had egg on your face after
making some big statement - always followed by a period of
blissful silence, mind

For future reference, in what decade will Saracens stop
benefiting from likes of Schalk Brits and Schalk Burger playing
for them 10 years ago?

I'm actually going to take you seriously for once and reiterate
something I said a few times last season, which is that this
season is the first where Saracens are no longer benefiting to
any meaningful extent from their years of cheating. Their squad,
although still very talented and obviously very well coached, is
no longer an outlier and the vast majority of players who would
not have all been at the club without the sustained cheating
have now left.
I'm sure an argument could be made that the culture built up
around Saracens during those cheating years still exists, but
that's impossible to quantify. I'd rather look at whether
Saracens have a squad that anyone else would have been able to
assemble and keep hold of. In my opinion, they do now. I might
be wrong, and I'm certain that scores of wronged fans will see
it differently, but that's it for me.
We're not playing Saracens this week and no one is interested in
talking about that fixture, so hopefully with that answer you
will leave this thread about Quins v Saints to people who want
to discuss Quins v Saints.

I agree with JG about where Saracens are now. We saw last season
that their first choice XXIII is still very competitive (and all
credit to McCall and the coaches or that), but what they were
losing was the depth to have 2 or 3 players of international or
near-international quality in every position.
