At long last, we finally get to see a team announcement for a
Premiership game.

Harlequins have named their matchday squad for Sunday’s
Gallagher Premiership season opener against Sale Sharks at the
Salford Community Stadium (KO 15:00 – live on TNT Sports).
The squad boasts a combined 1,549 first-team appearances, with
Jack Kenningham and Nick David set to earn their 50th Harlequins
cap, alongside competitive debuts for new recruits Titi
Lamositele and Leigh Halfpenny.
In the forwards, recent England debutant Fin Baxter packs down
with Jack Walker and Lamositele in the front-row. Irne Herbst
and Stephan Lewies combine at second-row, with Kenningham and
Will Evans on the flanks. Alex Dombrandt captains the squad at
number eight.
Scrum-half Will Porter and Jarrod Evans continue their halves
partnership from pre-season, with Lennox Anyanwu at inside
centre and Luke Northmore at 13. Oscar Beard and Nick David
provide versatility on the wings, with debutant Halfpenny named
at fullback.
The Impact Players feature the traditional five-three split with
front-row replacements Nathan Jibulu, Jordan Els and Simon
Kerrod combining with the experience of Joe Launchbury and Dino
Lamb. Danny Care and Marcus Smith provide impact across the
halves, with dynamic wing Cassius Cleaves earning selection for
his Premiership debut.
Head Coach Danny Wilson commented: “Sale is always a tough
challenge, particularly at home, but we’re excited to start our
season with a strong performance. The players have worked
incredibly hard over pre-season, they’re ready for the challenge
on Sunday and want to start the season on a positive note."

That's a new look and a strong bench. I suspect we will see
quite heavy rotation over the first three games, especially
given we have only a 6-day turnaround between each.
Looks like CCS and possibly Lewis are being rested; worrying to
see Green on the injured list. But Halfpenny is a fairly useful
replacement if he integrates well.

Starting XV is almost as I thought (Asher and Harper swapping).
Subs are very different - not least as we have gone 6:2.

Asher v Baxter should be fun and both sub hookers are highly
rated by their clubs.

Sad to hear that Tyrone, Cadan and Chis are all on the injured
list,
On a happier note... Imagine how it must feel, after an
exhausting first half, to see the opposition bring on
replacements - DC and Marcus. Just when the game is (hopefully)
slowing down...

Decent side considering the names unavailable. Interesting no
Riley but I suppose with the insistence to play Walker despite
how poor he performs, Jobulu is always the better sub.
Hope Cleeves comes on and plays well

Not usually a pessimist but think we might struggle here.
Between departures and injuries both our back line and front row
look a lot less threatening than they used to. Let's hope the
new arrivals and youngsters step up!

Not sure what concerns anyone can have about your front row. The
coming man of English propping, a 30+ capped international who
survived for 4 years in France and seemingly your (coaches')
first choice hooker
