Harlequins have named their squad for Friday’s pre-season
fixture against Benetton Rugby at the Stadio Comunale di Monigo
(KO 19:00 BST).
The 27-player squad has been bolstered by the return of several
key players including England internationals Alex Dombrandt and
Luke Northmore, experienced campaigners Joe Launchbury and Danny
Care, and a first pre-season appearance for Dino Lamb following
his long-term injury.
The forward pack features starts for props Jordan Els and Titi
Lamositele, with Nathan Jibulu at hooker. Irne Herbst and
Stephan Lewies form the second-row partnership, with the
experienced duo of Jack Kenningham and Will Evans on the flanks.
Alex Dombrandt captains the squad from number eight.
In the backs, scrum-half Will Porter combines with Jarrod Evans
in the halves. Lennox Anyanwu starts at 12 to partner Luke
Northmore at outside centre. Oscar Beard and Nick David provide
versatility on the wings, with the experienced Leigh Halfpenny
at fullback.
The Impact Players feature an exciting mix of experience and
talent, with front-rowers Jack Walker, Wyn Jones and Simon
Kerrod, second-rowers Joe Launchbury and George Hammond, and
back-row replacements Dino Lamb and Tom Lawday. Danny Care and
Jamie Benson provide cover in the halves, alongside centres Bryn
Bradley and Will Joseph and wing Cassius Cleaves.
Head Coach Danny Wilson commented: “Friday is another important
challenge for our group ahead of the season. Benetton are a
quality outfit and we’re looking forward to improving on our
performance from last week and welcoming back several key and
experienced players into our squad, alongside a strong mix of
Academy players who continue to impress in a Quins shirt.”

Is Riley injured? He’s not featured anywhere in pre season.

It’s fishy, I think if he was injured we would know by now, and
it’s not like he’s on a rest period.
I hope he’s not had his nose put out of joint where he’s been
told he’s stuck behind Walker, and they Jibulu is the probable
bench option
