Will Joseph in action for Harlequins
Harlequins have named a 27-player squad for Saturday’s
pre-season match against London Scottish at The Stoop (KO 15:00

The squad features an exciting mix of talent and experience,
with 10 Academy players selected, alongside first Stoop
appearances for new signings Titi Lamositele, Wyn Jones and
Leigh Halfpenny.
Up-front, Jones and Lamositele pack down alongside hooker Jack
Walker. Harry Browne and George Hammond combine at second-row,
with Academy duo Seb Driscoll and Zach Carr named on the flanks.
Tom Lawday captains the squad at number eight.
In the backs, Lewis Gjaltema and Connor Slevin partner in the
halves, with Bryn Bradley and Will Joseph in the centres. Roma
Zheng and Oscar Beard start on the wings, with Leigh Halfpenny
named at fullback for his first Quins appearance.
The Impact Players feature a six-six split with Jack Musk,
Jordan Els and Will Hobson the front-row replacements, alongside
second-row Stephan Lewies and back-rows Will Trenholm and Archie
White. Jake Murray and Jamie Benson cover the halves, with
Lennox Anyanwu, Hayden Hyde, Nick David and Cassius Cleaves
providing impact across the back-three.
Head Coach Danny Wilson commented: “We’re excited to be back at
The Stoop in front of our home fans. It’s another important
match for our preparation and we’re looking forward to a strong
contest against London Scottish. The guys have worked hard this
week, and we’re excited to see how they perform, with several
new combinations, alongside first appearances for Wyn Jones and
Leigh Halfpenny.”

Good balance of youth and experience in this squad.
Always exciting to see new players play their first games, but
I’m most looking forward to see how the 10/12/13 get on. Slevin
and Benson will be a great battle for the 3rd 10 shirt, and
there’s a lot of exciting possible centre combinations that
could play together. Bradley/Joseph to start is a lovely
balanced midfield.

Interesting to see how Bradley gets on as a comparison to how he
runs the game compared to Lennox. Surprised Northmore not seen
at all yet though.

We also haven't seen Marcus, Danny, Dommers, CCS, Baxter - but
you'd expect all 5 to be on the teamsheet first Prem game of the
season if fit. I'd expect the same for Northmore.

England tourists and an old man, innit? Rest periods enforced by
the RFU in most cases and mother nature in DC's (and
non-compliance with rehab in Marler's)

A load of kids running out for a Saturday afternoon Kick-about.
England Woman v France Woman 14:30 BBC1 it is then.

Of course but at least 'warm up' the Harlequins Premiership side
ready for the season.
What's the point in this 'warm-up'. They could have played in
Bushey Park with a picnic hamper after.
No wonder Quins are and will always be a middle table team
