You’d need to change our labour laws to do that, though, and go
back to pre-Bosman times.

Clubs then have to either develop or recruit more players to
replace the ones they've already developed that England are
using whilst the RFU compensates just a fraction of the wages
the player is still being paid by their club.
I understand that under the new agreement, every premiership
club, regardless of their EQP academy output, will still receive
£3.3m every year. That doesn't strike me as a very clever idea.

PRL have always insisted on an even split. Go and tell them
you're unhappy.

Thanks.
Assuming that England reduce the appearance payments and a
greater proportion comes back to the clubs... They would then in
theory pass it on in increased wages to the players to make up
for earning less with England?
I don't think there's an easy answer to any of this stuff. I
think rugby has generally existed in a complacent environment
financially for a long time. Elements of blame can be
apportioned to the RFU, elements to the clubs, elements to grass
roots. I'd hope that a sense of realism kicks in soon for all
parties.

There was zero leadership from the RFU in 1996. Literally zero!
They literally just let the clubs get on with it.

If there is a proviso that the £3.3m must be used to develop
EQPs then I don't have a problem with an even split. But I don't
think that proviso exists.

Look, it's PRL who decide how the money's split and it's up to
the clubs how they spend it. So take it up with either PRL or
Sarries if you don't like it
