Peter Scrivener (ex-Wasps player & a Non-exec director of the
club has poured cold water on the idea on twitter:
--- Quote ---
> Amazing how these stories make the papers without any contact
with the club in question . Poor form
--- End Quote ---
To which someone replied:

> Any truth Peter??

prompting the following response from Scrivener:
--- Quote ---
> We are also going to Kent cricket and chopping down their tree
--- End Quote ---
Which I would say can be read as a big fat no!

Nope, it was Alex Lowe. It sounds as if soomeone fed him the
story in hopes of pushing the narrative to try to drum up
support for the idea.

I’ve not been consulted about any potential rugby additions to
the garden of England, so I can also confirm this article is
inaccurate

I live close to the Pedham Place site where the Pests' Pie In
The Sky ideas are based. The whole scheme is the local MP's pet
hate project and the general local feeling is that it's got no
chance of getting off the ground.

Somerset?

Same. They might get some housing on that site but a stadium
adding to the general traffic nightmare in that area multiple
times a season that’s not really close to any rail connection.
Can’t see it myself.
