       Harlequins Sign Argentinian Rodrigo Isgro
Harlequins are pleased to confirm the signing of Argentinian
       international Rodrigo Isgro.
The wing, who represented Argentina at the 2023 Rugby World Cup
and most recently at the 2024 Paris Olympics, has joined the
Club with immediate effect ahead of the 2024/25 season.
Renowned for his speed, Isgro has enjoyed success on the 7s
circuit, winning bronze with Argentina at the 2020 Tokyo
Olympics, before being named the World Rugby 7s Player of the
Year in 2023. Throughout his 7s career, Isgro has played 152
matches for Argentina, scoring 355 points (71 tries). At the
Paris Olympics, Isgro featured against France in the
Quarter-Final, scoring a try in the 14-26 defeat, before playing
in the fifth-placed play-off against New Zealand.
At club level, Isgro played 15s for Mendoza before earning his
Test debut for Argentina against Australia in the 2023 Rugby
Championship. He was later selected in the Los Pumas squad for
the 2023 Rugby World Cup in France, scoring a try in Argentina’s
       59-5 win over Chile.
Upon completing his move to Harlequins, Isgro said: “I’m very
excited for this opportunity with Harlequins. It was always my
dream to play for a club like Quins and I’m really looking
forward to meeting my new teammates. I hope I can help the team
to achieve our goals and I can’t wait to put on the Quins shirt
and play in that stadium with so much history.”
Head Coach Danny Wilson added: “We’re delighted to secure the
services of Rodrigo. He’s a dynamic athlete, quick and skilful,
who adds further international experience to our squad and
provides great depth on the wing. He’s a mature player who we
expect to hit the ground running and contribute to our
       objectives this season.”
Rodrigo Isgro’s signing follows the recent announcement that
Wales and British & Irish Lions duo Leigh Halfpenny and Wyn
Jones have also joined the Club for the 2024/25 season.

Yes - a good signing. We now have a very good stable of wingers
       :
       David
       Anderson
       Cleaves
       Zheng
       Rodrigo
Murley (when he gets fit again)
       Green (sometimes)
       Joseph (sometimes)
       Northmore (sometimes)
But, I am really hoping Cleaves breaks through this season !

World sevens player of the year.
Dupont made the switch of codes look easy but Ollie
Lindsay-Hague is proof that it's not always that
       straightforward.
Interesting signing nonetheless and look forward to seeing him
in the quarters. Am a big Pumas/Jaguares fan away from the Stoop
and this lad is greased lightening quick.

Looks a good signing, which probably means the likes of
Anderson/Zheng and Cleaves will probably feature for LS, as I
imagine come Sale the Back 3 could well be Green, David and now
this chap (with halfpenny on the bench, although from a utility
perspective david would be the better bench option with Leigh at
15 and Green on the wing)

Given he seems to not be in London yet, I'd be surprised if he
plays in the Sale game tbh

I'm wondering why we've signed another wing, as good a player as
he is. Is Murley's injury more long term?

Green, David and Isgro is an electric back three. Any loose
       kicking will be punished.
Halfpenny is pretty much the anthesis of Green in terms of
playing style. I think he'll be a horses for courses selection
when the weather dictates its a territory battle and his big
       boot will be useful.
