Matas Jurevicius Joins Ealing

Harlequins have today confirmed that Matas Jurevicius has joined
RFU Championship side Ealing Trailfinders with immediate effect.
The second-row joined Quins from London Scottish in 2020,
achieving 22 appearances and earning first-team caps in the
Gallagher Premiership, Investec Champions Cup and Premiership
Rugby Cup.
The Club would like to thank Matas for his service to Harlequins
and wishes him the best for his new chapter at Ealing
Trailfinders.

That's a shame, thought he looked a decent player, but perhaps
he's hampered by being too small for a lock and lots of
competition in the back row.

Shamed. I always liked what he brought to the team. Very
athletic for his size.

Good signing for Ealing, should form a good partnership with
Bobby de Wee (why no Prem club has snapped him up is beyond me).
Arguably, Matas will result in a slight weakening of Ealing's
squad following captain Barney Maddison's retirement (also
announced today).

Good signing for Ealing. In his brief cameos for the first team
he looked sharp with good decision making. Think he'll make a
blindside than lock ultimately. Unfortunately for him we've got
plenty of options at 6 and lock so makes sense for him to get
regular game time elsewhere.

Yeah, a shame, but can understand him going after first team
rugby elsewhere. In front of him at 6 he has: CCS, Chisholm,
Trenholm, Kenningham and then arguably Lewies/Lamb/Hammond if we
decide we want to have a 5.5 at 6 for a game here or there. He
would have had to be very patient if he chose to stay... Good
luck to him.

Punched well above his weight and always looked like he loved
playing. Shame to see him go but probably a good move for all
parties
