       Thank you for that,
Personally I know two champ sides have missed out, but from a
Quins standpoint I like how this tournament has been set up for
the first time in ages. Close away fixtures, three more home
fixtures and entirely done in the international windows! With
momentum into knowck out rounds and group stages that make
sense in the context home and away against each team.
I would love to have gone to somewhere like Coventry or Bedford
but I understand it has been done this way for bigger crowds and
lower costs through travelling. (Even though the north group is
       still some miles)
This is a positive in my opinion.

Totally understand Chinnor and Cambridge being annoyed at being
excluded. Another example of professional rugby bodies in
England making it up as they go along and looking after the big
       boys.

You know the RFU are making it up as they go along when they say
things like "the clubs felt last year's competition went on too
long." - this year's competition has two extra weeks of
       fixtures.
And "the bottom two clubs did not play Premiership opposition",
I am sure I recall Cambridge scoring tries at both Bristol and
       Northampton.

Well your 'mates' at the top 10 Championship clubs either agreed
or, after all their bluster, discovered they didn't hold the
       cards they thought they did.
Still, it's down to 16 clubs next year so at least they'll be
something to play for in the league.

I think the championship clubs are well aware who holds the
       cards.

I'm sure they are but you wouldn't know that from listening to
       Simon Halliday.

I understand their feelings on that, but how would the pool
groups have worked? Currently, the format consists of five pools
of four clubs. Their annoyance is understandable but irrational.

They managed to include every team last year with 2 x pools of 6
and 2 x pools of 5. Not perfect but at least all the
Championship teams were involved and weren’t left with a load of
weekends without games. How are these teams able to plan for the
season ahead when decisions like these are made last minutes and
on the hoof? Nothing new, I suppose but still annoying.
