Why has nobody pointed out that the famous 24th man absolutely
has to be Maidstone Quin? :)

Thanks for the support, nice to see someone championing it.
In all honesty I’m still waiting for my honorary debenture
membership, or possibly my own hospitality booth. I hope DHL
bring back that sofa option, I’d feel quite comfortable there
though shouting how crap everyone is with my feet up

Do we? Neither would make my 23.
If Marler and Baxter are fit, I’d take them over Jones.
Halfpenny might make my Prem Cup side.

Now we have Baxter & Jones, I'd personally have Marler move to 3
or 18. I think he's good enough, & probably better than our
other options.

I've seen Marler play 3 once v Leicester (in a Big Game, I
think). It did not go well.

Wyn Jones has a good pedigree certainly for the bench, as before
Marlers injury I think most would be happy to see Fin take over.
Halfpenny is a strange one, and without knowing who’s available,
I’d rather we have signed an out and out winger, as Green and
David can always do a job at fullback. But if Murley would be
back say October/early November we might get away with it
Backs wise, first game of the season id be happy with
9. Care
10. Smith
11. Green
12. Ayanwu
13. Joseph
14. David
15. Halfpenny
21. Porter
22. Evans
23. Beard (covering centre and wing, as there’s plenty of FB
options left on the field)
I do have a feeling we will see Northmore at 12 though, with
Lennox maybe for the early part of the season back with LS

Wyn Jones has been announced as injury cover so fair enough.
I wonder if Murley's injury is perhaps worse then feared and
Halfpenny is an inexpensive stop gap. He'll play 15 but allow
David or Green to be shunted out to wing. That would indicate
Zheng or Cleaves aren't quite ready?
Suspect the deal is favourable and by all accounts Halfpenny is
a top pro so will be a positive influence if nothing else.

I would expect 1/2p to have to earn a place in the 23 and do not
expect him to automatically start at 15 - that shirt is Tyrone's
to lose and is his best position. I think it's more likely we'll
see one of Beard, Joseph or Anderson (ugh) occupying the other
wing spot in Murley's absence, but if this isn't an opportunity
to see what Cleaves and/or Zheng can do, I don't know what is.

I am a huge fan of Oscar Beard. Yes he has been caught out
positionally on occassion, but he has a never-give-up attitude
similar to The Robshaws.
Beard is still only 22! He has so much time on his hands and I
find it strange that people cry out to give Anyanwu more
chances/time and yet some (MQ) seemingly write off Beard.
