I agree with this in principle, but the cost for this A team
game is so high as to defeat the argument. It's a minimum of £45
per ticket - I got a ticket for England v Japan for £59.

A different view is that those not in the immediate area of TW
have a similar chance of getting a ticket through their club
(anecdotally Quins only get 200 to ballot to their members &
clubs at lower levels get proportionally less) and the time and
expense of travelling to TW from, say, Manchester may mean
having to book a hotel as well, so the total cost of an England
Fan from other areas may run to double or even triple the
ticket price alone.
Taking the "A" team games to grounds around the nation is a good
thing. Imagine you're a falcons fan/supporter & you can get to
see an England side play at St James Park. Or a Sale fan
watching them play at Old Trafford.

HQ tickets are pricey, but it's not actually that hard to get
hold of them.
The key is that every rugby club gets an allocation, and the
allocation doesn't vary that much by size and location. If you
can find a club where there isn't that much demand for tickets,
you have a good chance of getting them.
I have a friend who's a member of his home town rugby club in
the West Country, but lives within walking distance of the Big
Stoop. The club secretary knows that he will take the tickets
(and he has a group of friends who will consistently take them,
including me), so he often gets a call if there is any
allocation left over or returned from the ballot.
He's such a reliable source of tickets that I don't often use
the other sources I have, but I've used several over the years
and they are all fairly reliable. When I've used the Quins
member ballot I've had about a 50% hit rate, for instance. I'm
also a member of a club that has a well organised ticket ballot
but a relatively small membership, and that also has a high hit
rate when I use it.
If you're prepared to travel for the 6N, then it's generally
pretty easy to get tickets direct from the respective union, at
least for Scotland, Wales and Italy. A London-based Scottish
friend celebrates his birthday with a trip to Murrayfield, and
getting a reliable travel ticket to Edinburgh is harder than
getting the seats.

Sure - but, my point is.
I think that taking "A" and U20 games on the road is a good
idea. (Also include the women's games)
I just don't this that the London stadiums should be excluded
from the list or stadiums.
E.g. if they were to say something like -
Every home U20 and "A" game will be held at a different
Premiership, Championship or Nat league stadium on rotation that
has more that X number of seats, then I think that would be a
good idea.
It gives everyone a shot.

The Stoop used to host a lot of the Red Roses games back in the
dim and distant before the games were taken on the road to
spread them round the country (quite rightly I might add). I'd
say that these days our proximity to Big Stoop is probably more
of a hindrance to us getting A and womens games than before and
I guess this time it was actually 'our turn'. Proximity to
Pennyhill/Lensbury as appropriate while the AIs are on is
probably helpful too with no fallow weeks allowing for a fair
bit of easy interaction between the Main and A squads.

“Our turn”?
Wouldn’t that mean that every club gets a turn?

On the list of grounds that seem to get used for A mens and
womens games - yes. I'd like it to be spread more
widelyarticularly in the North but there seems to be a fixed
list - Welford Road, Franklins Gardens, Sandy Park, Kingsholm,
Ashton Gate, Globogym HQ, The Stoop and occasionally Donny.

It’s stretching things a little to talk about the stadia used
for men’s A games.
Before the Portugal game they hadn’t played since 2016. And that
was away in SA.
