England A v Australia A at the Stoop

The RFU has confirmed The Stoop as the host venue for the
upcoming England A fixture against Australia A on Sunday 17
November (KO 14:00).
England A’s last fixture against Portugal in February featured
several Quins including Fin Baxter, Cadan Murley, Oscar Beard
and Sam Riley, with November’s fixture set to be another
entertaining contest against an experienced Australia A squad.
The England A side provides a platform for players transitioning
from the Gallagher Premiership and pathway at U20 level to the
senior men’s team.
A coaching team involving personnel from across the Premiership
and England Rugby will be chosen by the RFU in consultation with
Premiership Rugby, with the selection of the matchday 23
determined by Senior Men’s Head Coach, Steve Borthwick, and RFU
Executive Director of Performance, Conor O’Shea.
“We are delighted to confirm this fixture for England A,” Conor
O’Shea said.
“England A is a great platform for the country’s next best
players to showcase what they can do while representing the
country. It gives Steve Borthwick and his staff the chance to
see players outside of their club environment, and the players
the opportunity to impress.
“A fixture against an Australia A side will pit our players
against really tough opposition, and work continues on to secure
more playing time for the Men’s A team in the near future. We
are looking forward to taking England A to The Stoop for what
I’m sure will be a great game of rugby!”
Tickets will go on general sale at 11am on Friday 19 July via
www.ticketmaster.co.uk.
This match is organised in conjunction with The RFU and is not
part of Harlequins Season Ticket Membership benefits.

tickets now on sale.
my normal Stoop ticket in the south stand is £45 + £5 service +
£2.95 handling charge

50 quid cheap seats for an a team game...
And 90 in the east stand. Are they not even opening North or
West?!

Agreed. Red Roses v Black Ferns at Twickenham is £100 for my
family. This game is at least £150.

That’s joke ticket prices. I’m sure the Welford Road fixture was
less…but regardless I’m sure it will get filled anyway so no
need for anyone important to actually think it’s too expensive

but it's like England vs New Zealand at HQ. Not sure about now,
but certainly pre covid the RFU used to say they were 8 times
oversubscribed. And it's a good question. Should they provide a
service to all fans and sell tickets at an affordable price? Or
should they go for the money and have that much more to spend on
the lower tier clubs?

Simple, play in a venue with a higher capacity than the stoop,
knock it down to £30. Ie Welford Road, or somewhere else further
north to promote the game to those who usually couldn’t (and
afford) to get to Twickenham.
If rugby is ultimately to shake off its toff elitist image and
appeal to everyone, then it needs to start from somewhere
