Well it is nice to see the flow of money coming the other way
for a change.
Has anybody asked the players?

To those who disagree with sports in the Middle East - don't
attend and don't watch. To those who don't have an issue - do as
you wish. Let people make up their own minds.
The worst thing that can happen is for the whole thing to not go
ahead because of a vocal, likely minority.

Apart from that, it did strike me that there might just be a bit
too much Rugby being organised, a la golden goose etc....

I may be misremembering but I don’t think it’s any more games.
It just means that instead of playing Japan and twice v NZ,
England will go to Qatar and play 3 games there.

I'm pretty sure that's now how freedom of speech works.

The planned competition is as follows:
July
The 6 Tier 1 Northern Hemisphere sides play 1 game each against
three of the Southern Hemisphere (inc. Japan & Fiji). (e.g.
England could play Argentina, South Africa & Fiji, Wales could
play Australia, South Africa, & Japan, etc etc...) Points
awarded in a similar manner to the 6 Nations or Rugby
Championship.
November
The 6 Southern Hemisphere sides play 1 game each against the
Norther Hemisphere sides that didn't play them in July, meaning
all teams will play 1 game each against the opposition
hemisphere, either Home or away. Using the example I gave
earlier, that would mean England would play Australia, New
Zealand & Japan, Wales would play New Zealand, Argentina & Fiji,
etc). Points awarded again, leading to a final table.
The top two sides would play the Nations Cup/Championship final
(whatever they end up calling it), possibly in Qatar according
to rumours. There's scope for the other sides not qualified for
the final to play against each other (3rd vs 4th, 5th vs 6th,
but I'm not sure if they've finalised that yet.

That seems reasonable. All the test matches become part of a
tournament so a tiny bit more to play for. Hopefully a bit more
revenue for lower tier countries and more exposure. Biggest
question for me is where are all these games going to be played
and will I be able to watch them at home. I’m not bothered about
going to Twickenham for England games to pay extortionate prices
for everything and have to miss half the game to get up every
two minutes so someone who’s clearly more interested in beer
than the match can spill stuff on me getting back to their seat.
