Mostly, not being Tatyana Heard, who has a similar style but
seems to be preferred. Tuima has tended to win her caps when
Heard has been injured. She may have a chance after RWC2025 as
she's younger than Heard.

A critical re-signing for the future of the team, and a great
vote of confidence in what Ross is doing. I imagine she wasn’t
short of offers after her start to the season.

And another key renewal - Connie Powell signs a multi-year deal.
What are our expectations for the overall changes to the squad
this year? My best guess is:
- Quite a few of the international players are in the UK
primarily for RWC 2025, and may leave after the tournament - but
I hope they will hang onto the Red Roses and other home nations
players, barring retirement
- The announcement of multi-year deals (I think the first time
the club has talked in those terms) means that we are seeing the
beginning of a transition to a full-time professional squad
- The club is prioritising locking in the players it sees as the
medium and long term future of the squad
- The squad will remain large compared to the men (a necessity
with a semi-pro squad) but will probably slim down a bit as more
players go full time
- We will probably see some of last season's regulars who aren't
getting game time move on, with players who've come through the
Centre of Excellence making up more of next year's squad
- Must re-sign Claudia Pena.
