Andre was banned for a good chunk of that season, including all
of the run in except the final itself.
Ben Tapuai played 12 against Bristol, and I think illustrates
the sort of player that might offer an alternative - not as
powerful, not an out and out second playmaker, but big enough to
carry hard and skillful enough to keep a defence on their toes.
It's the sort of role that you could imagine Anyanwu growing
into given time - he's a fraction taller and a stone heavier
than Taps, and probably a fair bit faster.
It's pretty clear that Quins have a plan, and equally clear that
we don't know what it is, or which player they expect to step
into Andre's shirt, if not actually his boots. We'll just have
       to wait and see.

Yes Quins have a plan but a fairly risky one -let's all hope it
       pays off👃

       Excellent point of fact @poorfour.
Tapuai was underrated. He was a very capable all rounder who
might have played more but for injuries.
Not replacing a top class player is always a risky strategy.
However, let’s see how it goes.
Next season is going to be interesting. There’s a lot of
familiar faces leaving the Premiership so the overall landscape
is going to different to what we’ve been used to over the past
       few years.

Quite excited by the prospect of us and others relying more on
what they've got coming through, tbh

Replacing Andre with Taps isn’t really comparable to current
situation though. Taps was a very different player but he was
capped by Australia and had a wealth of previous experience.
This time we are replacing Andre with either an excellent 13 who
hasn’t been great at 12 or a 12 that has little experience and
prefers 13. I’d be amazed if they aren’t trying to find someone
       to come in.

You could probably fit two of our wingers into Andre's shirt! :)

If we're not in the market for another 12, then its a high risk
       strategy.
Joseph and Beard are out and out 13's (or wings). Northmore can
play 12 and will make a decent fist of it however, he's better
at 13 and is injury prone.
That leaves Lenny or Hyde as our options at 12, or possibly Jev
       as a second playmaker.
Given how poor defensively we've been in the second half of the
season, it seems strange we're going in to the season with a big
question mark over the 12 shirt.
Maybe Lenny or Hyde are the answer, but you'd of thought they'd
have been given more minutes this season if that were the case.
This feels like a calculated gamble.

Some posters seem to think that a 12 must be born to be a 12.
Players can adapt and learn. Many players cover different
positions, because they've learned to. It may well be that Lenny
has/will develop into a superb 12. I daresay Andre would have
had a few poor games in his early days.

Some posters also think that if you want someone to be an
effective 12, you need to play them in that position a good
number of times before chucking them in at premiership level.
We’ve had plenty of time to plan for Andre leaving and I’m still
not clear that anyone is ready to step in. Really hope it’s
Lenny but it’s a gamble for such a pivotal position in our team.
