Re-read my post
I said "maybe" Chis + Care.
But, with Lynagh, he was an academy prospect. He should be
replaced with another academy prospect.
In my post I had forgotten about CCS and Joseph though

Nope, lynagh was a key player in a prem winning side being
talked up for international honours at his last contract
negotiation.

are indeed moving northmore to 12, which seems mental to me.

At the start of the season, Joseph was our starting 13 and had
been part of the RWC training squad (albeit dropped - correctly
- in favour of Marchant). He's since been injured and Northmore
has come back and shown excellent form, but that just
illustrates why cover in the position is needed. He's also 21
and Northmore is 27.
Memories are short, it seems.

I don't really mind, we have a solid squad. Over the years
whenever we've recruited for recruitment's sake, there have been
plenty of times they haven't panned out or added much. I'm
thinking Goneva, Ismail, Sackey, Kennedy, PDJ, sure there are
plenty more. All seemed useful signings on the face of it.
I like that LD says we can essentially sign other players if the
right player comes up. Let's not just add filler to the squad.

I don’t think anyone is asking for new signings just for the
sake of them. I think a good number of us are worried that we
are going from having one of the best 12s in the world to either
using someone who isn’t a 12 to cover the gap or rely on someone
fairly unproven at top level. For the way we play, this role is
crucial and we were clearly looking for someone as both Lawrence
(who isn’t a 12) and the Aussie who went to Tigers were linked.
My reading of this is that the club realised the risk and
haven’t been able to bring someone in. I know we won’t find
another Andre but it is disingenuous to pretend the club don’t
know there is a problem and they have not yet found a solution.
Big chance for Lennox in the meantime and hope it works out as
all the other options seem to be making one of our 13s play 12
and hope it works. And even Lenny prefers 13 as I understand
it.

I'm not worried about losing Andre in attack particularly, I
think Marcus can probably play with any type of 12 - it's the
centres defensively which concerns me.

We do seem to have five centres in the senior squad, all of whom
are 13s.

Yep, totally agree. I'm not saying there aren't roles that could
be filled, but I'm all for not just trying to fill them with any
journeyman who's available. Andre was great, but we also had
countless other seasons without an Andre!
I wouldn't mind another Lasike, mind.

Agreed. We’ve had JTH, Robert’s, Lasike and Andre so if all
this messaging about the Quins DNA is true, then part of our DNA
(including for both premiership wins) is a a fair sized lump at
12.
