Yeah André clearly wasn’t fully fit. We were winning when he
left the field, mind.
Lynagh had a torrid afternoon. Couldn’t lay a finger on Ibitoye.
The latter had such a poor game in the reverse fixture in
October that it seemed almost comical but he was completely
unplayable yesterday. That move has worked out well for him.

149 points conceded in our final 3 games is a disappointing way
to end the season, but I’m still proud of the boys this year. A
first ever Champions Cup semi, and we put in an excellent
performance away to Toulouse. We’ve had some brilliant results
in the league, and it’s sad to come up short, but it’s so tight
1 loss going our way would have been enough - fine margins, and
I’d rather lose out by a fine margin that where Gloucester or
Falcons are.
Now to cheer on my second favourite team in the playoffs -
Anyone But Saracens RFC

analysis, is pretty irksome. Give yourself a Summer break and

Well, it was nice to be at the Stoop yesterday. The sun shone
for the second half, the pint of pride I had didn't taste too
awful (but nothing a decent Fullers pub would serve), made the
acquaintance of a very nice Bristol fan sitting next to me.
Apart from the rugby it was all good.
Ah, the rugby! Well, I was forced to admire some excellent stuff
by Bristol. I thought their passing game much superior to ours.
They kept the ball alive, passed out of contact, went for spaces
instead of defenders and seemed to make ground whenever they had
possession. We on the other hand seemed ponderous and slightly
off the pace. We never learned to defend against that one man
way out on the wing (notice we tried the same tactic a number of
times and it came to nothing). I thought the afternoon best
summed up in the second half when Bristol were playing with 13
men (two injuries), we got the ball in our own 22 and instead of
running it out immediately, turned and charged for the toughest
part of the Bristol defence and gave away a scrum! TCUP, for
God's sake!

Malins looks a hell of a player when in the centre or FH.
Absolutely wasted on the wing

Some players look so different in the flesh compared to on the
box- and Malins is one of them. He had a helluva game, made so
many great runs, and the dummy on the right wing was class.
I lost count of the number of times Bris looked like they were
going to fumble passes to their fingertips which all somehow
stuck.
Well done Bris, we looked knackered, and once players began to
leave the field, some for the last time at the Stoop, it all
fell apart.

That aside, I’ve been right more than I’ve been wrong this
season. The writing is on the wall for most to see anyway.

I noticed that during the first half Bristol made three subs
then changed their front row in the second half but still seemed
to bring on several more replacements. Did they bring players
back on.

It looked to me that Quins were on their last legs at the end of
the game. I suspect a big part of that is that we've not had
much opportunity to rotate players. We've kept a good squad fit,
but a lot of the players who could have rotated in have been
unavailable for large parts of the season, and particularly the
run in. No Dino or Launchbury, barely any game time from Chis,
Lawday and Kenners, Murley, David, Joseph and Northmore out for
a lot of the year...
I thought that Quins might have been using the 6N break to build
fitness for the run-in, but with hindsight it looks like they
prioritised the Champions Cup, and when that didn't come off
there was nothing left in the tank.
