       James Chisholm Signs New Contract
Experienced back-row James Chisholm has signed a new contract
with Harlequins ahead of the 2024/25 Gallagher Premiership
       season.
The Academy graduate, who has 149 appearances and 19 tries, has
put pen to paper on a fresh deal to take him into his 12th
       season in Quins colours.
Comfortable across flanker and number eight, Chisholm joined the
Senior Academy in 2013 before earning his first-team debut in
the LV=Cup fixture against Exeter Chiefs later that year.
He has since become a regular starter in the Quarters, winning
back-to-back DHL Player of the Season awards in 2016/17 and
2017/18, before earning his 100th appearance against Munster in
2020. He also played a key role in the 2020/21 Gallagher
Premiership title, scoring a try in the famous 36-43 semi-final
       win over Bristol Bears.
At age-grade rugby, Chisholm captained England U18 in 2013 and
was named the World Rugby U20 Championship Player of the Year in
2015, helping England U20 claim the Six Nations title and the
       Junior World Championship.

       James Chisholm Signs New Contract
Upon signing his new contract, Chisholm said: “It’s a very
exciting time to be a Quin. This season has been very enjoyable,
we’ve had some special memories, and the energy amongst the
squad is incredibly exciting. We’re building something special,
and I can’t wait to embark on the next chapter of my career,
playing in front of the best fans in the league, and achieving
       more memories together.”
Director of Rugby Billy Millard commented: “Chis is a highly
respected member of our squad, he’s a fantastic leader and
demonstrates the Quins DNA through his hard work and
determination to succeed. We love having Chis in our squad, he’s
a terrific character but also a very important player who
continues to work exceptionally hard to improve his game.”

Give me a minute to get used to this "website" malarky - I'm so

Good squad player when he’s available. He’s a far better 6 than
he is 7, so hopefully next season it’s Kenningham and Evans on
       rotation

We never see him at 8, which always seemed strange to me.

The offy has taken it down. Tomorrow's big announcement sneaked

Yes and he has said 8 is his preferred position to play.

He’s had the bad luck to start his career with Nick Easter in
the squad (only plays 8, rarely injured, good enough that he’s
an obvious first choice when fit) only for Quins to recruit Alex
Dombrandt (only plays 8, rarely injured, good enough that he’s
an obvious first choice when fit).
There was a window when Chis could have made a real challenge
for the shirt, but I think it coincided with one of his longer
injury layoffs. It’s a shame, because as a youngster he had many
of the characteristics that CCS brings today.
