Broad strokes are:
£400k to spend on medical jokers in aggregate
Players must be injured for 12+ weeks
The replacement player must be of a similar standard (i.e. you
can't replace a 3rd choice, uncapped fly half with Beauden
Barrett)

I heard from a friends son who was at school with a lad that got
an academy contract that it was £50k. Assume that’s per year.
Not bad for playing a game as a youngster. It would be increased
when you got into the senior squad to whatever you could
negotiate. Or you were let go. If players like Scotland-
Williamson or whatever his name was were getting 90k for not
even making the squad then I would think Louis was on good
money. I thought he was moved on because of an attitude problem.

You could well be right but the corollary would be that any
player who appears in the Men's (rather than Academy) squad page
can't be in the Academy. The first player on the Men's squad
list is Alikhan - a 22-year old (at the start of the season) who
(according to the stats) made one, 12-minute appearance this
season before leaving.
That does rather smack of an academy player.

Cheers Rodney. Forgive me for not even thinking to check the
offy as a source of up-to-date squad info! Looks like the back
office are finally keeping things current on there now, but I
was just basing my list on the names that constantly fly around
on here as being academy players still. Maybe some slightly
clearer comms (i.e. "first senior contract") when academy
players do graduate would help - although it's highly probable
everyone missed those lines too.

Alikhan is on loan to the Dallas Jackals; if he were still an
academy player wouldn't they loan him out somewhere closer to
home?

Academy is up to 50k, would be interested in which academy
player went to school with your friends son. Unless he was 1 of
the few that smash out of the academy into the first team then
he wouldn’t be on anything like that, unless of course he was
exaggerating.

On our squad list there are 34 players listed as on academy
contracts.
Generally I update this page whenever the club makes an
announcement.
Usually, the club mentions that the contract is an academy
contract in the announcement

I don’t want to give any names away so all I will say is that he
was from Gordon’s School. One of the Quins “ partner” schools
like Whitgift and a few others. If you see the academy squad it
normally says which school they attend.

I would still be questioning whether the info is reliable or
exaggerated, academy players normally earn a lot less than the
maximum academy wage.

According to the salary cap report, the 10 surviving clubs had
on average 29 academy players and spent just over £5m
collectively, so the average academy player is making less than
£20k
