him at 12. It's interesting Lennox isn't selected at all and
he's not injured, so clearly he appears not to be overly
trusted, which then leads to the question of next season, as I
hope the plan isn't just to shoehorn Luke there and hope for the
best.

Surprised Lennox isn't being given more of a chance. Sort of
suggests they're looking to bring someone in at 12 rather than
just relying on the remaining centres. Will be interesting to
see how Northmore and Beard get on.

As a direct comparison to their opposites, Exeter shade it for
me, as neither player we have (or up to now) have shone or
excelled in direct comparison to other positions played in
(Beard is a better winger in my view). Considering I think it
was last season (?) Lennox was introduced directly for Andre
when he was out, its interesting to see this season not even
making the bench, instead option for only 2 backs. Including
last season and this, he has made 18 appearances in total across
all comps with 9 being starts, so at 23 you feel he really
should be coming into the fray a bit more to move from
"promising youngster" to a genuine cat among the pigeons first
teamer fighting to start key games.
That said we have a better pack, so stopping the likes of
Slade/Woodburn/Feyi-Waboso getting front foot ball may be an
important factor.

A few thoughts...
1- What does Walker have to do to get dropped? I don't dislike
him and think he offers loads around the park but I would much
rather have a total plodder that can hit 95% of his lineouts.
2- We really need Beard to be on his game positionally,
otherwise Slade and co. will have a field day in attack. He's
capable of it but seems to be great one week, not so great the
next (when used at 13).
3- Good call starting Marler, he should be out to prove his
worth after being a silly sausage last weekend.

I'm not mad to see Porter starting, he's absolutely earned that
after the last few weeks. DC9 off the bench is about as good as
a replacement gets too

Let's hope so; and let's hope he doesn't let us either.
I think I can almost read the match thread now. 😁

Re Lennox - it's possible that the coaches don't think this is
the right game to start him, due a to a lack of game time this
season (for whatever reason). Maybe he's not 100% fit; maybe
he's just not match fit.

Totally agree.
It takes a few games to come up to speed. Look at how Luke had
come on.
Basically, Lenny would need to start from the bench and work his
way in to the team. But, I don't think that this is the game to
try that.
But, depending on how results go this weekend, then maybe put
him on the bench V Bristol.

He does look like he's been on the red meat...
