The Run In

As it is Ascension Day today and none of my work colleagues in
Europe are in the office, I was a little bit more bored than
usual.
So, I looked at what the final table standings could be.
I took the current results and then assumed that for the final
10 games, we would get the same results as the identical
fixtures last year.
And - we come tie 5th with Sale
1/2 - Saracens (60 points)
1/2- Saints (60 points)
3 - Bath (58 points)
4 - Bristol (53 points)
5/6 - Quins (52 points)
5/6 - Sale (52 points)
But, I think that these results will be more likely
Bath
Bristol v Saracens
Exeter v Harlequins
Gloucester v Newcastle 5 - 0
Harlequins v Bristol
Leicester v Exeter
Newcastle v Bath
Northampton v Gloucester
Sale v Leicester
Saracens v Sale
Which then puts us into 4th place.
Winning at Exeter would move us into 3rd and give us an away
semi-final v Sarries

Assuming Saints top the table, I'd rather an away SF at
Franklin's Gardens than the StoneX.
Plus, we've never won a semi final against Saracens, despite
several attempts, while we have won one against Saints. Doesn't
look like a return to Bristanbul [1] is on the cards, sadly...

Winning at Exeter is a must in my view, which won't be easy in
itself. Bristol at home will be too close to call as they are in
great form also.
Ideally big wins for Sarries and Tigers, and hopefilly at the
very least a try LBP for us, or a sneaky win at Exeter.

Does anyone know where we need to be in the table to qualify for
the Champions Cup next year?
I think it is top 8 places in the Premiership.
- if so, then we have definitely qualified as Glos can't
overtake us.

8th - unless Gloucester with the Challenge Cup. They then get
the 8th spot regardless

Cheers Yareet.
So, for Quins not to qualify, we would need:
1. Glos to win the Challenge Cup
2. Quins to lose to Chiefs and to lose to Bristol and to get no
bonus points
3. And Tigers to win both of their remaining games (v Sale @
Sale + v Chiefs @ home) with at least 1 bonus point
or
1. Glos to win the Challenge Cup
2. Quins to lose to Chiefs and to lose to Bristol and to get
only 1 bonus point from the 2 games
3. And Tigers to win both of their remaining games with a bonus
point at each
Basically, Tigers would then finish above us.
So, we need at least 2 points from our last 2 games to guarantee
qualification.

Looking at possible results.
If we win both of our games and Sarries only win one of their
games, then there is a distinct possibility that we will end the
season in 2nd place.

So they expect us at the Stone X, would rather not. We don't
particularly have a great record at the Gardens either so any
away semi is tough either way

and so was Bordeaux (and nearly Toulouse).......
