Why do 2 yellows = a red?
The two cards are supposed to be for different things.
It mainly seems to be because association football does.
Remove that law from the book asap. Too many incidents are
"mistakes" that get turned into cards that then create further
issues.

His ban isn't for the cards, it's for mouthing off at the
officials. Only Farrell is allowed to do that

The two yellows equals red has been there a long time, possibly
as long as the sin bin.
Hockey does not do this, unless the two cards are for the same
offence. It also has three levels of card.
