All a bit beyond me - I'm way out of their target audience - but
good luck to them.
I saw the 1968 original when I was a kid. Seem to remember
enjoying it; the make-up was certainly stunning for its time
IIRC.

To answer if Quins get money- I can imagone Disney are paying
Quins to advertise the film through BSKO. It will be on ITV
after all as well as one of the American Sports channels as part
of "The Run In".
I cam understand as well that the film is only released a week
or so after the match. Plus the last 3 Planet of the Apes film
were great and this film is a continuation of it.
A shame it is not Deadpool & Wolverine. Would love to see Ryan
Reynolds and The Jack Man at HQ. Would also encourage my wife to
buy a ticket!

Well, they've been slanted for their stance on a number of
things of late. The firing of the actress Gina Carano is one
thing; they've also been criticised for having trans/drag queens
at various theme parks when some parents didn't think it was
suitable for their kids. The CEO was also involved in a fairly
public spat with Elon Musk over advertising on X.
Of course people have different views on such things. Some think
Disney have gone overly woke. Some might not think they're woke
enough.
Either way, it's not a brand that I personally favour. It's all
about personal opinions and preferences though.

I'd applaud the CEO for that, anyone that disagrees with EM is
fine in my book!

Thanks for explaining. The majority of that seems to me
divisive, rather than toxic.
I think by and large it’s still a (very) popular and well known
brand. Those things you mention are unlikely to turn off anyone
already into Harlequins, and the average casual fan/unconvinced
family member is also probably not going to give 2 figs about
it.
My view is Harlequins will only benefit from associating with
them, and the downside is probably miniscule.

Disney has the biggest streaming channel, overtaking Netflix, so
I would say a good collaboration. If you look into any company
whatsoever you are going to find something that somebody can
complain about. Generally, the Disney brand is well liked
throughout the world. If we get some ££££ from it it’s a good
thing.

Fair points, and I'd agree with the final one. If we earn, I'm
happy.

Interesting. I'd rather look at what the spat was about before
taking sides. But, different strokes etc.

Regarding the "spat" between Disney and Elmo, the history is
that Disney decided to reduce/stop advertising on Twitter as
their ads were regularly being placed alongside twitter accounts
they didn't want to be associated with.
Elmo in a live interview a little later accused Bob Iger
(Disney's CEO) of attempting to blackmail twitter by doing that
& told him to "Go *bleep* yourself!" (I've bleeped that, but you
can guess the word). Since then he also backed activist investor
Nelson Peltz's attempt to gain two seats on Disney's board and
is funding Gina Carano's lawsuit.
Disney are well within their rights to decide when and when they
advertise, and choose the advertising space that works best for
their brand at any given time. Musk is throwing his toys out of
the pram about that decision. He isn't offering helpful
criticism that might make the company better, he's just trolling
the company because it seems as though it makes him and his
followers feel better to have a cultural enemy.
