Maybe a few quins fans can find the hotel Bordeaux might be
staying at as a team, and in safety first approach during these
turbulent times, test the fire alarms around 2am, and then 4am.

You have to love Google Translate... "a crutch on his thigh"
       sounds painful!
Union Bordeaux-Bègles will not be able to count on its pillar
Jefferson Poirot in the quarter-final of the Champions Cup
against Harlequins. On the other hand, Matthieu Jalibert, absent
against Saracens, should hold his place. For his part, Damian
       Penaud is very uncertain.
Starting against Saracens in the round of 16, Jefferson Poirot
played fifty minutes before giving way to Lekso Kaulashvili. The
former French international did not seem to be in pain. However,
he will not be on the pitch this Saturday at Chaban-Delmas
against Harlequins, due to neck pain. He will have to undergo
additional examinations to assess the duration of his absence.
With Poirot absent, the UBB staff will, however, be able to
count on the return of Ugo Boniface who was unable to play
against Saracens due to hamstring pain. He should therefore
appear in the Girondin group alongside Lekso Kaulashvili.
       Vergnes-Taillefer expected
Another return should take place. On the third row, Bastien
Vergnes-Taillefer (shoulder) had been in the infirmary since
March 9 and the trip to Montpellier. While his return was hoped
to play in the eighth final, he ultimately had to wait one more
week but he can now apply. This will also be the case for
Matthieu Jalibert, absent against Saracens. The international
fly-half (knee) trained normally at the start of the week and
should therefore wear number ten against Harlequins, barring any
last-minute surprises during training on Friday.
       Penaud did not train
A day which will be crucial in removing doubts around Damian
Penaud. The international winger was unable to train at the
start of the week due to a crutch on his thigh. The UBB
technical staff will carefully monitor the progress of the
injury in the coming hours, hoping to finally be able to line up
their entire "patrouille de France". Yanncik Bru has only
managed to start his internationals four times together since
the start of the season, and only three times with Romain Buros
       at the back.
