Yeh I get that, but I hope we are not sacrificing this game in
the hope of the premiership. Without a couple of our key players
it’s an even bigger ask and possibly an impossible task. Just
looked at Joes Instagram and his family are in Dubai…

Quins have been pretty good on managing player fitness the last
couple of years - in the 2020-21 season they were the first to
adopt the ProTECHt mouthguards that indicated when the players
were at risk of injury.
I wouldn't be surprised if this was triggered by looking at the
relative fitness data of who was available and seeing that
Baxter and Porter are in better shape than Marler and Care, so
deciding that this was the best opportunity to give them a break
given the run-in. It does mean having some weaker backup on the
bench than we might otherwise have, but scrum halves can
generally play the whole game at club level and Baxter has put
in some 70 minute shifts. If they were planning for it that may
be why he was subbed at half time on Friday.

I actually think Marler not being available isn't a big deal.
Baxter in my view has certainly matched him of late for overall
form. Care will be the biggest loss though, as it's a lot for
Porter in his first (possible) game back.

Baxter may be fine but after 60 minutes, you'll be bringing on
... Garcia Botta? Kerrod?

So junior BQ1 and I talking it through earlier and what we think
the choices will be:-
1. Baxter
2. Walker
3. Collier
4. Launch
5. Lewies
6. Lawday (CCS if fit)
7. wEV
8: Dommers
9. Porter
10. The Prince
11. Lynagh
12. The Giant
13. Beard (Northmore if fit)
14. Murley
15. Tyrone
Bench, am anticipating a 5/3 split
16. Riley
17. Els/SGB
18. Lewis
19. Irne
20. CCS/Lawday
21. Green M
22. Jev
23. Northmore/Beard
Bench will be critical here, so we have to give then enough time
if the game is slipping away.
Also consider, if Porter can't last the 80, maybe not having
Green M on the bench but letting (crazy as it sounds) Marcus go
to 9 for the last 15 or so mins and let him and jEV chop and
change and have an extra forward on the bench if we're worried
about getting beaten up, up front.
Men in white coats are en route....

6 of one half a dozen of the other. Probably Kerrod if he’s fit
as he’s always been a useful operator. I imagine Botta will
nudge it for his experience though

Didn't Baxter go off injured last week? Can't risk a worse
injury by playing him half fit

Yeah. Baxter went off at half time. It looked as though he had a
shoulder injury

That will certainly help. Being denied Murley v Penaud though is
a shame
