Train strike - Friday 5 April
   DIR By: Nico Wilson

There's apparently an overtime ban tomorrowo.
Could someone familiar with the intricacies of the Waterloo to
Twickenham route please let me know if I'm likely to have a
bad/horrendous journey to the Stoop tomorrow evening, and if
       there's an alternative route.
       Thanks

Canary Wharf, so usual route is Jubilee Line to Waterloo, then
       SWT to Twickenham

When I was looking over the weekend, it looked like the travel
between Waterloo & Twickenham was still planned to be fairly
smooth. The bit that meant I had to opt for driving was the
timing of the last train out from Marylebone back up to Oxford
Parkway. The last train on that route was the 11:10pm departure,
and I only just made that train for the last Friday night game
when the kick-off was 15mins earlier than this week. According
to South West's website, the journey planner for Thursday &
Friday is up to date with the overtime ban changes, so worth
       checking there.

       Thanks FF.
To add the fun and joy, there's a special timetable on Chiltern
       tomorrow.

Indeed. Hence why I'm driving. Usually there's Chiltern trains
running from Marylebone until 00:10am to Oxford on a Friday
night (have used that when I've been going to gigs at the
Roundhouse after work), but the overtime ban has made the last
one 11:10pm, and I can't guarantee getting back across London in
       time to make it tomorrow.

Friday evening games aren't worth the hassle - are they?

I still go to them if I can. I used to do it by driving, getting
home around 11:30pm, but tried the train last time because I
have a diesel car & would be charged under the ULEZ. Cost wise
it was about equal to the ULEZ + Parking, but it means getting
home around 12:45amat best. Friday Night games may be fun for
supporters who live close or are on a direct line of public
transport, but for those further away/on indirect routes, they
are a pain in the proverbial.

I live within 16 miles but it takes 1.5 Hrs Friday night at
least to get to the stoop, just traffic nightmare all the way. I
       hate friday night games.
