LOVEJOY CHAWATAMA TO JOIN BRISTOL BEARS

Harlequins have today confirmed Lovejoy Chawatama will depart
the Club at the end of the 2023/24 season to join Bristol Bears.
The tighthead prop, who joined Quins from London Irish as injury
cover for the 2023/24 season, has made seven appearances, making
his Club debut against Hartpury University in the Premiership
Rugby Cup.
Prior to his move to The Stoop, Chawatama registered 93
appearances for London Irish and enjoyed stints with Clifton
RFC, London Scottish and London Welsh. He also represented
England Students in 2015.
Director of Rugby Billy Millard commented: “Lovejoy has been a
good addition to our squad. He is a big character and has worked
hard for his opportunities this season. We wish Lovejoy and his
family the best with their move to Bristol and look forward to
his contribution for the remainder of the season.”
Speaking ahead of his move to Bristol Bears, Chawatama added:
“I’ve loved my time at Quins and will always be grateful for the
opportunity they provided me this season. It’s a special Club
with fantastic people and I’ve enjoyed pulling on the Quarters
and playing in front of The Stoop. I would like to thank
everyone for their support and I look forward to finishing the
season on a high.”

Chandler Cunningham-South was also taken on as injury cover at
the same time.

Chawatama didn't appear to be favoured at Quins as not selected
that often so not surprising he is moving on ..........

Possibly a Japanese lad?

With most prem games now not being impacted by international
call ups it means we’ve hardly seen Lovejoy or Kerrod this
season (& Collier has stayed healthier for much more of the
season )

True, but Kerrod has been out injured all season also.

He was back for the Munster game and from memory, played for all
of the 2nd half.

Good luck to him. Was never likely to feature much for us
barring injuries, but performed perfectly well when he did. A
convenient arrangement for both parties. All the best in Bristol
