i assume as the fine was £1 for every £1 breached, Saddies felt
it much cheaper to take the fine as was and go down, than open
the books to what the actual monetary amount would be, gives you
some kind of insight into just how much money they were
hiding.NO Euro cup comp, the fine they were given and lower
attendance cost them quite a bit and still the cheaper option
for them. One hell of a property portfolio.

Well quite. And I can remember sitting with a coach at the
Quinssa dinner in 2012 or 2013 and being told in so many words
that our Premiership triumph was a massive overperformance and
that we couldn't realistically compete with Sarries because of
how much they were paying their squad, through some sort of
property deals. Even back then any coach who had contacts with
them knew they were cheating, which raises the question of just
how long it went on and how many players were involved.

Are we sure this isn't just a recalculation of what's owed? The
initial 300k was for 2016 to 2020, this is also for 2020. So I
think the auditors have just amended the fine?

I'll save Arsile the time ...
We all know that Sarries are entirely innocent of any and all
charges levelled against them, past, present or future. It was
all just a misunderstanding.
(Please god let's hope he doesn't feel the need to add
anything).
