Best of luck to Tabai - from the reaction online it seems the
staff and players loved him and I've only ever heard from fans
who met him that he makes time for anyone and everyone. Seems
       like a top guy.
A question I've had for a while though (and it is not meant to
come laced with any form of judgement or criticism aimed at
Tabai or any coach in particular) is whether our coaching group
has enough "bite" to it. I look at the general demeanour of our
coaches and I wonder who is capable of inspiring the players to
find that gnarly edge and never give an inch - you know, the
bedrock of what makes Sarries so dominant (particularly against
       us).
You look around the other scary squads in the Prem - the ones
who are always in the conversation at the end of the season -
and there's always a hard-nosed, grumpy individual at the heart
of everything they do. McCall at Sarries, Baxter at Exeter, even
Ferguson at Saints... they all just have a bit of an aura about
them. Danny Wilson is now perhaps the closest we have to that
kind of figure - but I personally still feel we're lacking in
       that department and it shows...
Do we need a bit more dog, or am I barking up the wrong tree?

I hear you - my impression is that the coaches seem a bit too
“nice” and there’s no sign of a ruthless streak. Although
memories of the incident that shall not be mentioned may still
run strong amongst the board and there may be a reluctance to
appoint another strong character as DoR.

I have wondered this for a while, in the past our teams that
showed a bit of dog were coach by Richard’s and Gustard (I know
his other failings) all the other have been really nice guys but
       good coaches.
We’ve heard Sinfield was being tapped up he is apparently very
inspiring but is he the bit of snarl we need?

Though ironically our recent trophies have all come in the
aftermath of replacing a harder edged coach (Richards, Gustard)
with nicer guys (COS, Billy and the Quartumvirate).
Super Kev seems able to cover both sides. He certainly drives
high standards - but equally, he comes across as a very humble
and caring human being who would fit well with the Quins
culture. If as rumoured we have signed him, then I would hope it
       would make a positive difference.

Not sure I agree with this theory that you have to outwardly be
a grumpy t... In order to give your team a hard edge. I'm sure
some of the nicer coaches can give the players a rocket when
needed. Anyway, Mark McCall seems perfectly pleasant. Steve
Diamond comes across as a bit of a bell and hasn't won more than
       Conor or Millard
I do wonder with our coaching set up who the players think is in
charge. Wilson appears to be second in command now, but is he
       officially?

On offy, Millard is listed as Director of Rugby for the Men's
side, with Wilson as Head Coach. Interestingly, Amy Turner is
listed as Women's Head Coach but there doesn't appear to be a
Women's DOR and Millard's role is explicitly stated as being on
       the men's side.
