67℅ in one single season, something I pointed out at the
very start. In every other season, it was less than 50% - I
simply do not understand where you are getting two seasons from.
Not the season before, not the half season after. Just what are
you on about? How would I know I was wrong when he didn't start
the majority of matches or the big games? What bizarre logic are
you using here? Please, do explain your working. I'm happy to
give you another chance to show you're capable of a reasonable
discussion.
Ben Youngs hasn't been the incumbent for a while. He picked up
bit parts in the world cup with Mitchell and Care running the
show after JvP's injury. He had one substitute appearance in the
previous 6N then got sent back to tigers. He was the bench
option before that. The starters were JVP then Mitchell, with
Care taking the subs place. Was he around the squad? Yeah,
that's fair, and Spencer would have been the better bet IMO. But
at no point was he obviously a better choice than Mitchell and
Care.
Anyway, you can hate on Danny Care all you like, but he's a
legend of the club game in this country and if there was a
premiership hall of fame, he would be in it and Spencer
wouldn't. Maybe Spencer might have been more highly regarded by
fans and England coaches if he had had the ambition to leave
Saracens to become first choice for another less stacked club
and proven himself before his Bath sojourn. As it is, we're not
exactly talking Dupont here - the guy is a good player but prone
to inconsistency throughout his career (even at Bath!) and maybe
missed the chance to really kick on, thanks to his decision to
settle for second best.

Decisions, decisions. Some of which shape our legacy.
Consider this hypothetical scenario:
Move to a different club and fulfill one's potential as a
player, or...
Stick around, be a quality backup for better players, get a few
caps, but build a great property portfolio, potentially,
allegedly. All hypothetical of course.
One has to consider the long term (capital) gain.

Danny Care is a club legend for Harlequins. And he's a great
club level player in much the same way you might describe Alex
Goode as a great club level player.

Absolutely Alex Goode would be one, yes. He has been phenomenal
in club rugby.
Care is an English club rugby legend. You really have to stop
being so blinkered when it comes to Quins. Even recently you're
still taking bitter swipes at guys like Robshaw and Brown
because your loathing of our club is a full blown obsession.
Care has over 350 appearances, well over 100 tries, Christ knows
how many assists, two titles that he has been one of the key
driving forces for, frequently in the team of the season, etc
etc. The guy is a scrum half still going strong at a thousand
years old and still scoring for fun, still schooling teams with
his attacking skills, and is likely to finish his career as
second only to Chris Ashton as a try scoring machine - the only
non back 3 player in the top ten.
Anyway, thank you for confirming you didn't actually have
answers for me. I guessed as much.
