Nigel Wray is currently a better scrum half than Danny Care ever
was.

Somehow I can't see him moving to France.
He probably only has a few seasons left in him. So, a club is
only going to give him a one or two year contract.
Moving all the family for a short period would be mega
disruptive. Also - I think his wife is a lawyer - so I am not
sure if her skills would be transferrable to France.
Basically, if would have to be a lot of money for it to be worth
his while.

I don't think Spencer got anything like the chances that Youngs
and Care got. It's bizarre. Jones promoted an arthritic Willie
Heinz above Spencer. He was brilliant for Saracens and he's the
best player at Bath.

Shouldn't you be in play group? Do mummy and daddy know that you
are using their computer?

Finn Russell might argue a bit about that?
I do agree he was treated harshly though. Wasn't he often
behind A N Other at Sarries though? Be it Wiggy, de Kock during
his time?

No, same here, I think he'll stay now for another season and
then once the media career is sorted, he'll bow out. I still
think he wants Ashton's try scoring record so I expect to see a
few more snipes per game now. I know 17 tries is a lot to make
up in a season and a half but not beyond him

Ben was I believe dropped from the Bath Academy, then moved to
Cambridge - then at level 4, where he soon established himself
as the first choice 9. The best 9 we ever had. Scored 150
points, would have been 152, but he missed a conversion -
slotted 58 out of 59.
At the start of the next season. Cambridge arranged a training
session with the Saracens coaches, and Ben never came back.
Which did not help our season - not that you could hold that
against him.
He joined Saracens when De Kock and Wigglesworth were injured,
so instantly started in European competitions, as well as
playing for England U20 and Saxons.
Then, when they were fit, he had several seasons at the spare
not even warming the bench - until getting his chance.
So absolute proof that the academy system is the best way to
develop top flight players.
