I assume Quins need to agree to the fixture?
Besides I thought all Quins hated the StoneX thought you'd be
glad not to go there.
As for numbers, where do the other 60k 'quins' fans go after the
big game?

PRL as a whole need to approve the "big games" and when/where
they are (e.g. the Big Game itself is an agreement that Quins
can have a home game at Twickenham over the Christmas period,
but no specification of the opponents) but I am not sure how the
opposition have been chosen. Presumably Sarries ask to have
their Quins home game at Tottenham, but I am not sure if Quins
get a veto as long as the PRL majority agree.

are when the opposition was other than Quins. (As a side note,
the first year they played 3 games at Wembley, of which Quins
were the highest attendance, so I included that). The Covid
years are obvious. For Quins, I used only the Big Game numbers.
Obviously the late move of last seasons' game had an impact.
What I think this shows it that we are consistent in drawing a
decent crowd, irrespective of who the opposition are. When
Saracens play someone other than us, their attendances are
generally lower. It's also clear that there was a gradual fall
off in their attendances even when playing against us in the
2015 to 2019 period. Maybe people are getting bored of having
the same opposition for that fixture, even as neutrals.

That's inferring a fair bit from a limited data set, IMO.
The biggest factor that Quins have got right with Big Game is
the timing. Playing over the festive break means that people
typically have very little else to consider. From a personal
point of view, I know that I won't have a game at the same time;
nor will my son have training the next day. Consequently, not
only can I go to BG but I can take the family in the knowledge
that nobody needs to get up the next day. It therefore becomes a
family day out with my wife and daughter joining in.
The same is true for travelling fans so anybody travelling less
than a couple of hours can make a big day of it.
Compare with the Sarries game. Even if I wasn't playing (and
wanted to go), I'd be less willing to take my son knowing he has
to be up early on Sunday. Which means I'd be going on my own.
And as it's a normal weekend, I'd have to fit my usual weekend
activities into Saturday morning and Sunday so I am potentially
less likely to hang around for long after/get to the ground
early.
And as a travelling fan, that makes coming to London a lot less
appealing so I can see why non-Quins fans may be less interested
in getting to Sarries on a random March weekend than they would
Twickenham on a blank day over teh festive break.

The Christmas factor is there, for sure, but looking at the part
of the Sarries line from 2009 through to 2019 would say that
they started strongly with the two outliers being games against
Wasps and Tigers (Wasps at that point were playing at High
Wycombe as a side note). Sarries were getting similar numbers to
Quins for the games against Quins, despite it not being
Christmas. From that point on, the numbers steadily drop off up
to the pandemic.

Apologies Yareet. And yes, would make sense.

Gladly. Unfortunately Marsile usually comes on here with the
sole intention of being a bit of a wind up merchant.
As to the game, much will depend on how many of the England lads
play. We don't really have much back row depth at the moment,
moreso with CCS out for a few weeks. I imagine your greater
depth will see you win by 15-20 points. We tend to never spoil
your party in these fixtures!

Surprised Bristol haven't though. Distance is very doable and
it's likely to be a high-scoring game which Quins would probably
win

They were supposed to be the opponents last season, but we had
to change it due to the rail strikes.

Don't blame the messenger.
Quins fans (and players) whine about the StoneX plastic pitch,
lack of home fans, parking, the beer etc etc blah blah. So
Saracens take the Quins match to, arguably, the best stadium in
the UK, they pull out all the stops and sell it out and the
response from Quins fans? Harumph, why is it always us that gets
to play a London derby match in a fantastic stadium in front of
60,000 fans, we're so hard done by.
Saracens by 19.
