Selecting wingers purely on number of tries scored is a very
blunt method. I'm trying to work out what each selection would
be based on if it was reduced to one simple stat.
Props - scrum penalties won
Hookers - lineout %age
Second rows - lineout wins
6 - tackles made
7 - turnovers
8 - metres made after contact
9 - passing %age
10 - points kicked
Wings - tries scored
Centres - line breaks
15 - tries conceded
There you go, team selected and nobody can have any complaints

What don't you understand? Radwan scores tries - and spectacular
ones at that - in a mediocre Falcons team. But he's a weakness
in defence, under the high ball and he's too lightweight. I
would take Murley over Radwan 7 days a week.

I'd like to refine that by, for instance, No.9's how many
"successful" passes and maybe get try assists in there somewhere
for evrybody..|?

We can't surely keep caveating every time we have a conversation
about wingers that other facets of play exist.
We've had this conversation on another thread very recently. Yes
of course there are other things wingers need to do, but scoring
tries and being quick are more important than most.

Radwan could run faster going backwards than Murley could run
going forwards. As for being too lightweight, Radwan is taller
and slightly heavier than Murley.
Outside the Stoop, Murley really isn't highly regarded. Radwan
is.

It's a poor take. But then so is the suggestion that Radwan is
speed/finishing alone.
To be honest the one thing which counts against radwan for me is
that he must be pretty dim to have stayed at Newcastle.

Max Malins scored more tries the season before from four fewer
games played. Do you think Malins is a top winger?

I certainly agree with this. With better coaching he'd have been
a proper worldy. He's a fast twitch freak.
