Tommy Allen retires from International Rugby!

"This Wednesday, Tommaso Allan, the USAP full-back/flyhalf,
announced that he was withdrawing from the Italian selection.
Did Tommaso Allan play his last match for Italy two weeks ago in
Rome against England? Possible. The USAP fullback or opener
announced this Wednesday, on Instagram , his decision to
withdraw from the national selection.
"This decision was not easy at all. It was a very tiring year
physically and mentally. Being away from my family for months
only made things even more difficult. The decision was made for
my own good -being and that of the team. Thank you as always for
your continued support. Forza Italia" , wrote the player with 80
caps with the Squadra Azzurra ."

Shame but understandable. He's getting older and needs to look
after the body and guarantee the income. Plus they look to be
going younger with their outlook. At least he got to go out with
a try against England.
We'll still see him in European competition though.

Most likely he's picked up an injury/knock that will keep him
out of the remaining 6 Nations games & he may have already
decided to retire internationally after the end of the
tournament anyway, so he's just pulled the trigger now instead
of waiting a few weeks.

Don’t blame him. Played well against England and then dropped
to the bench the following week.

Believe he had picked up a knock before last weekends game which
is why he was named on the bench.
This may be part of the reason for calling up Lynagh?

I wondered that. Am I remembering correctly that Louis was a
very good fullback at age grade?

Does it actually say anywhere that he has actually retired from
international selection forever, he did withdraw from
international selection earlier before joining Quins?
