Mercer having a good game against Chiefs today. TNT doing what
TNT do though and making the entire game about one player and
ignoring the fact he’s been bang average for Gloucester up until
now.

Not sure that's the strongest team Exeter could pick either, is
it?

No, probably half and half starters and non starters. They don’t
look great either. Even Healey commented that LBND and Ali Ekyn
needed to get a room re: Mercer.

Clubs could only pick players who played for them in the pool
stages, with a few exceptions - injured players, front row
replacements and tournament director's permission.
Exeter presumably got an exceptional circumstances exception for
Will Rigg, who played for Coventry in the pool stages. But I am
not sure why.

I'm not sure a Prem Cup game is the best time to judge a
player's international potential.

Form is temporary. When he was doing great in France, Lynagh was
doing great in the UK.

Both can feel aggrieved to have lost out to Vunipola. Not sure
mercer can feel aggrieved to lose out to dombrandt. Anyway, both
of them are wasted under borthwick. He wants someone to truck it
up, not anything more expansive, which is their point of
difference
