You could imagine a second tier competition in which England A,
Ireland A and France A play against Portugal, Georgia and Spain
that might be more fun to watch than the 6N itself at the
       moment.

Just been having a look at the various A teams in Europe. France
dropped their A team in 2011, making their U20s the "second
team". In 2017, they transferred that to the French Barbarians
side. Ireland had the Wolfhounds, but they last played in 2015.
There was a one off Ireland A game vs an All Blacks XV in 2022,
but there's no news on any other games being arranged. There's
also an occasional "Emerging Ireland" team that gets put
together. It seems that because they have only4 provinces &
they're semi-run by the IRFU, they feel they have no real need
       for a second team anymore.
Wales hasn't had an active A team in near 20 years, while the
Scots have an A team, but I can't find a schedule of their games
to see how active they've been.

It is a shame that the players don't get capped if they play
       against another international team.
I could understand that you wouldn't get a cap in an Eng A v
Scotland A match - but, I think you should get a cap in an Eng A
       v Portugal match.

1/5 of the squad from Gloucester. A reward for their outstanding
       season.
To be fair I don't know a lot of those players, so can't grumble
about other quins missing out without knowing their competition
(David, Evans, beard, Joseph, maybe porter and Hammond)
Porter's injury timing was unfortunate, for him and Quins. Same
with beard, as you'd think he'd be in otherwise
Echo the comments about isiekwe. He's had plenty of time /
       chances

Personally, I've always liked him as a player.
As for other players, I think Chris (sadly) has missed the boat.
Agree with the point about Wev though. Arguably the best fetcher
       in the Prem.
Just imagine, Lynagh could also have been involved in this.

Isekwie isn't a bad player at all, but like many he's in the
steady-eddy types that are decent enough, but for international
level you need someone who stands above the others in his
position, which is why hes never been a mainstay in the squads.
Cunningham-South has certainly stuck his hand up for the Lawes
       type player already

Scotland have just re-instated their A team -
  HTML https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/68314850.
       I know there
was supposed to be an A-test between England and Scotland in
2021 but covid got in the way. Seems the Scottish A team may
       then have been mothballed
