Treviso have over the last few years moved up the rankings.
Plus, he may feel that he wants to play regularly against SA &
Irish sides as that will help his international career.
Currently he'd only be guaranteed two URC and two French
opponents each season if playing in the Premiership.

Good point, I hadn't realised they were doing that well these
days - only really give the URC a passing glance every now and
then!
I mean, Quins are 2nd in the league and I just don't see the URC
as being an equally attractive league to play in. If someone
told me he was off to France and going to play for Italy, I'd
say no brainer. But moving to Italy never does much for anyone's
career...I can't really think of any player or coach who has
gone on to bigger and better things and really excelled via a
stint in Italy?!
But who knows!

Marchant to Sarries was supposedly a done deal, so forgive me if
I take this latest rumour with a large pinch of salt.
As others have already articulated, he doesn't need to play in
Italy to play for Italy and frankly you'd expect bigger clubs to
be circling.
He has a great rugby brain and has a real try scorers instinct
so I hope Quins are tying him down with a new deal.

can walk in to Italy squad without having to move there. Better
rugby at Quins in the prem with a better team, was on the verge
of an England spot until he got injured and only really just
come back from that. He's only had a couple of games since he's
been fit again and was playing superb rugby prior to the injury
so I'd be gutted to see him leave. Yes his defence has been a
bit pants the first game or so back but you expect that sort of
thing with a whole season layoff. Part of the squad trimming
thing maybe?

Tommy Allen moved to Benneton well into his international
career. I can easily see why a lad who wants to play
international rugby for Italy would want to move there to
further his cause.

Reads if we’ve not offered him a deal as
Opposed to it can’t be agreed. Mad by the club in my view.

I think this just harbours his international desire as he
probably won’t feature for England or Australia and Italy may be
seen as an easier option, although I wouldn’t bank on that these
days.
If he stays great if he leaves good luck 😉 we’ll be ok.

If he's not been offered a deal I'd be inclined to believe it's
for a good reason. Anyway, I hope he stays.

Benetton have been spending a lot of money recently and I
wouldn’t be surprised if they’ve offered more than Quins are
prepared to pay.
I really rate Lynagh in attack but this season he’s been exposed
both tactically in defence but also missed tackles. Definitely
things he can improve on and I still view him as 1st choice
(over David) but that’s not how he’s currently viewed by the
coaches.
I hope that Cleaves is given his chance soon as by all accounts
he’s the real deal

Telegraph says not offered a deal by Quins.
The only reason I can think of is if he declared his intentions
to play for Italy and Quins aren't interested in another non-EQP
on the books, especially after Dino become one.
Gutted to lose him but good luck if he goes!

Apparently at the Falcons game told fans he was going no where.
Personally if that's true, and he is off, and Cassius is fit,
out with the old in with the new.
