How old is trenholm now? Thought he looked top notch a couple of
seasons back when I saw him.

He’s 22 I think. Certainly needs more game time as I think he
could run the risk of losing any momentum/potential.
Of the lot starting yday, I think a few will be off if they
aren’t already rumoured. Els, Matas, White would be my guess as
I don’t think they have much a chance of being useful for the
first team. Matas at one point looked better than Hammond which
       is a shame.
Lawday is defo in the squad players to keep. Rarely lets people
       down

The weather conditions were very bad. Both sides tried to run
the ball, off-load etc. But the ball was like a bar of soap (as
the late Bill McLaren would say). LS don't look a bottom of the
table side....their last 6 or so games have been lost very
narrowly. I really hope that they escape relegation again this
       season.
I spoke to Joe Gray before the game.... a real gentleman.

I thought that it was a scrappy game, but, I spoke to a London
Scottish supporter after the game. He thought that it was a good
game. He said that LS were struggling with the pace that we were
       trying to play at.
So, I guess it depends on your viewpoint.

I think Matas is a very good flanker, but doesn't have the heft
to be a lock. I'd like us to keep him as he's shown a lot of
       good signs.

LS will escape relegation, as Jersey went bankrupt - so there is
       none.
There is one side being promoted to bring the league back to 12.
At least that is the plan of record.
With Prem 2 coming in the season after that.
The talks between the RFU and the Championship clubs about the
structure for 25/26 are apparently ongoing. But, no formal
       announcements have been made.
It is possible it will be expanded to 14, which could mean
another season without relegation - depending on how many other
clubs not currently in the Championship are invited to join.

It’s a tough one as he and Hammond were in the same boat, but
then Hammond bulked up slightly more and followed in the
footsteps of Tizard/Lamb. Matas is athletic for sure, but we
have a fairly good stock of flankers IF no one leaves, so he’s
in a fairly difficult position for this period in his career.
I’d like to see Trenholm take Whites place in the main squad, as
let’s face it he’s been stealing a living for years.

I imagine Trenholm is expected to fill the departures left by
Wallace and most likely White and potentially Lawday if he
decides he wants increased playing time somewhere else.
We also have a number of u20 internationals in the back row with
Carr, Schmid, Driscoll and Smith. Driscoll still has another
year at Exeter university but I was really impressed by him in
the u20 World Cup last summer.

Lawday’s been great, but he’s 30 now, and has struggled a bit
with injury; I don’t know if he has another long contract in
       him.
Jurevicius and Trenholm are seen as longer term prospects, I
think; I’d imagine Quins would be keen to keep both.
