Define a top team
In the year he’s been coach, we’ve only played 4 games against
teams I’m guessing you’d class as top.
But yes we lost them all

Argentina were ranked higher than England when we played them in
the opening game of the RWC.
And to be fair, losing to South Africa on a scrum penalty that
could just as well have been called the other way was a very
good performance, even if the result didn’t go England’s way.
That said, it won’t be enough for this RWC cycle; England will
need to develop a more complete game plan to be a realistic
contender in 2027

By "could have" I was being a bit polite about Ben O'Keeffe's
consistency in applying his interpretation of the scrum laws.
England didn't have

I'd say PSdT flopping over the ruck on their 10 mtr line shortly
after, being missed, was the bigger crime than the scrum penalty
as it was right in front of him and so bloody obvious. Anyway,
the scrum looked good in the WC so hoping this will be the same,
hopefully.

So many indicidual incidents one can look at. And yet none will
change the result, which is all that matters.
