May as well say that Newcastle need to prove they should be in
the Prem regardless of the lack of relegation.

The difference being, teams in the Championship would still need
to prove they can beat the teams above them which they haven't
to earn a place in the league. Teams such as Georgia have proven
they can complete with the top tier sides, and run them close,
       or beat them.

England: Steward; Freeman, Slade, Dingwall, Daly; Ford,
Mitchell; Marler, George (capt), Stuart, Itoje, Chessum, Roots,
       Underhill, Earl.
Replacements: Dan, Genge, Cole, Coles, Cunningham-South, Care, F
       Smith, Feyi-Waboso
Did not have chandler over Dombrandt on my bingo card.

The difference being is that the 6N is a business that sets its
own rules - which include not having relegation. "Italy will be
under the cosh" from whom? As punters we can whinge all we like
but those who are actually in a position to do anything about it
(i.e. the 6N shareholders) are unlikely to make that change for
fear of the precedent it sets.

Very safety first approach, and not a backline with out and out
       pace.
       Ford over Fin Smith? Yawn.
Daly for me is the biggest error. He is a great club level
player, but seldom has looked amazing in any role he's been
given for England. Would have preferred to see Feyi-Waboso or
       Roebuck starting there.
I guess we can expect more box kicking.
Pleased for Chandler. We need to get him on a long contract. I
imagine his options of covering 6/8 goes in his favour more so
       than it would for Alex.

Feel it will look different for Wales at HQ but this was the
game to start F Smith and some of the other youngsters to see
how it went. If he's going to persist with Earl at 8, stop
picking Dombrandt, as there's no point him being there to hold
       tackle bags.
There's enough that could double up across the back row so why a
specialist 8? Injuries aside, of course.

There's a bit of a sense of this being a first hit out and a
chance to see how some new kids do when given the chance. I
wouldn't expect the same XXIII for Wales or Scotland.

But dull. Mitchell apparently a fitness doubt, so wonder if care
would be promoted, or Spencer to start
Smith possibly out for whole tournament apparently

The thing that gets me most is SB saying he will pick on form
yet that's really not the case.
Alex is one of the form 8s, Fin Smith is arguably the most fit
in form fly half available, Furbank is playing far better than
Steward, and Muir/Roebuck/Feyi-Waboso have demonstrated better
       form than Daly.
I'd have probably preferred Pearson at 6, or Ben Curry, but
       that's just a preference.

Form got them into the squad but no coach is then going to
ignore what they see in training.

True, but lets be honest SB's judgement isn't great considering
his constant starting of say Johnny May in the RWC. Time will
       tell..
