Jason Leonard was probably the best thing to come to us from
Salarycens. He knew where he was best off. I think it’s very
narrow minded to think that Quins were the only club giving
players jobs. You’ve only got to read players biographies to
find out.

Not for each season they cheated in - including, of course, the
first time when they and Bath held the league to ransom. But you
knew that already.

Do we all get a carers allowance for looking after this Cheats
fan while he’s on day release?

Based on previous form, Quins offered Brown a bung.

If you can't explain something just say so. Or maybe just don't
say anything.

The current Academy model, catchment areas and all, was set up
by Conor O'Shea when he joined the RFU as Director of Regional
Academies in 2005.
By which time, Brown had been playing for the Quins senior side
for a season. As far as I can tell, there weren't any rules
about who could be scouted into which academy before O'Shea's
reforms.

Even if there was, Brown’s from Hampshire. He seemingly went to
schools in Wiltshire (at a school which “didn't have much rugby,
if any”) and then in Hampshire.
He’s credited the coach from the Hampshire school with moving
him to 15 and in doing so igniting his career.
All his adult career had been at Quins (until he left as a club
legend). He joined at 18.
Hampshire is (to my mind) very much Quins country.

The idea that Quins poached Brown from a Wiltshire club and out
from under Bath’s nose is … seemingly fanciful.
It seems to be much more likely that Goode was destined to
follow the well-trodden path from Oakham School to Leicester.

I still think the Racing 92 academy did a great job developing
Owen Farrell.

So in other words, you have absolutely no idea about any of
this. Maybe in future you should stop pretending you're some
sort of authority on rugby academies, or Quins, given how often
you get it completely wrong and resort to just desperately
making things up.
You won't, of course - you're utterly shameless.
