that if someone really does need to be dealt with (bad language,
abuse, discriminatory comments etc), it could work well. The
downside is that someone has to decide what's really worthy of
being dealt with. No doubt someone will be offended at comments
that others may not like but simply accept. We've heard people
gripe at things that are annoying, but not really within a
steward's remit. Things like people in front constantly
standing, or drinks being spilled. One my personal pet peeves is
people littering. Is a steward going to make someone pick up a
discard food wrapper? Even though littering is a criminal
offence.

Littering private land is not a criminal offence :)

As a fellow steward with HESM I agree there should be a steward
for all blocks; in support of the our fellow stewards vaping and
foul/abusive language can be hard to pinpoint so this system
will be a help if the complainant wishes to remain anonymous but
otherwise inform a steward of the issue and they will intervene.

I think that things like this are a good thing.
I agree that issues that are really a big problem are quite rare
(I usually attend 30+ events - sport, gigs etc) a year and have
done do for about 30 years now, and there have probably been
about a dozen incidents during this time that I would even
consider worthy of reporting), but they do happen.
As an example. You are sitting in a section of the crowd with a
few families and kids, and there is a small group of people
there, worse for drink, who are causing a problem by swearing
and shouting abuse etc. What do you do? Speaking to them
yourself could cause a confrontation. You don't necessarily want
to be the person who is seen going to speak to a steward and
pointing them out. A message through this system could just
bring a steward over to have a quiet word with them, and
hopefully solve the problem. They don't need to be thrown out or
anything, but a Steward is more likely to solve the problem than
me telling them to shut up.
I'm sure that there will be time wasting, but some issues will
be resolved better due to this system if it works.

I think it’s a great idea as there seems to be a lot other
sports supporters watching rugby and not understanding that
hatred of the other team and ref isn’t tolerated in rugby. I
would prefer the QR codes not to be on the back of seats though
as it would look like you are taking a picture of the arse of
the person in front of you so could cause other problems…
